It's a running gag, I know. But now that we're in the homestretch, it is obviously a crucial set of games.

ULM

UALR

@ ASU

@ Denver

We should be able to beat ULM, but the other three are potential landmines. UALR is the #1 school in conference right now. Then ASU gave us all we could handle in Denton. And Denver...they beat everyone at home. So, can we go 3-1 in this string of games? How about 4-0(thereby going on a 7 game streak!).

We shall see.

ULM= win ( we are HOT)

UALR=win ( not as good as record indicates)

ARK ST=tie (probably a game that comes down to the last shot , go figure)

DENVER= loss ( I think we are something like 2-7 in Denver , not a easy place to play)

so i say 2-1-1

Can we? Yes.

Will we? Remains to be seen.

The only 4 game winning streak I'm really praying for is the one that starts on March 4th.

I want as many as we can get in the meantime, but if we've got a 4 game finishing streak in us... THAT'S the one I want.

True....and if we won from here on out, that'd be an 11 game win streak. That is hard to fathom(IIRC we've only had one Sunbelt win streak of 5 games...ever), so chances are we can't go 23-10.

It's not the attitude at Denver, it's the altitude. If we heat up, we can win that one, too, but by a small margin.

UNT is playing great at the moment, and is probably pretty confident that they can win out. That confidence helps and a win Thursday could set up a nice end of season run. I sure feel better now than I did 3-4 weeks ago about the chances UNT has for post-season play. Is another 20 win season possible...SURE IS...but, must finish very strong. CAN DO!

GO MEAN GREEN!

Recited in deep smokey Al Pacino voice:

I don't know what to say really.

Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives

all comes down to today.

Either we heal as a team

or we are going to crumble.

dribble by dribble

Jumper by Jumper

till we're finished.

We are in hell right now, gentlemen

believe me

and we can stay here and get the shit kicked out of us

or

we can fight our way back into the light.

We can climb out of hell.

One half-court desperation attempt, at a time.

Now I can't do it for you.

I'm too old.

I look around and I see these young faces and I think

I mean

I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make.

I uh....

I pissed away all my money believe it or not.

I chased off anyone who has ever loved me.

And lately,

I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror.

You know when you get old in life things get taken from you.

That's, that's part of life.

But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff.

You find out that life is just a game of backboard shattering slam dunks.

So is basketball

Because in either game life or basketball

the margin for error is so small.

I mean one half step too late or to early

you don't quite make it.

One half second too slow or too fast

and you don't quite swat it in into the stands.

The bounce passes we need are everywhere around us.

They are in ever break of the game

every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that bucket

On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that Monster Jam.

We CLAW with our finger nails for that sweet no-look pass.

Cause we know when we add up all those 3 pointers

that's going to make the f-ing difference between WINNING and LOSING

between LIVING and DYING.

I'll tell you this

in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die

who is going to win that opening tip.

And I know if I am going to have any life anymore

it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that crunk alley-oop

because that is what LIVING is.

The six inches in front of your face.

Now I can't make you do it.

You gotta look at the guy next to you.

Look into his eyes.

Now I think you are going to see a guy who will shoot free throws with you.

You are going to see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team

because he knows when it comes down to it,

you are gonna do the same thing for him.

That's a team, gentlemen

and either we heal now, as a team,

or we will die as individuals.

That's basketball guys.

That's all it is.

Now, whattaya gonna do?

It goes without saying that JJ and RV's jobs are on the line with this one.

Huh? The only way JJ isnt here next year is if he gets sniped by a bigger school. That guy has done more for this program than anyone in a long time. He may not be "the guy" that takes us to "the next level," but he has definitely earned the right to be here for the foreseeable future.

Until 20 wins becomes the norm, and is a part of NT b-ball culture, then you can't complain about 20 or near 20 win seasons. After we are at this level for 5 years or so, and we still dont take the next step, then I think you can start to talk. Of course, if we win 20 games 5 years in a row JJ will already be off to greener pastures.

When that happens :( , my choice is the coach down at SFA, he is a former NT player, and he has shown he can do a hell of a job without a lot to work with.

Unless you were joking, in which case ignore everything I just said.

I think I get the idea of you ignoring everything he said by not typing anything.... but didn't you un-ignore him when you pushed the reply button? If I've got this all wrong please ignore this post.

Come on guy, I think there has been enough negativity, and crazy talk, to never know for sure if someone is serious or not. There are some pretty ridiculous ppl on here.
