does this almost clinch the #2 or #3 for tory or wku?...can we catch up to either?

Yes...we can't concevably catch either because both own the head to head over us. The highest we can be is the 4 seed. One would have to lose out and we'd have to win our remaining games to catch them.

EAST

Troy 12-3 17-10

Western Kentucky 11-3 17-8

MTSU 8-6 15-11

South Alabama 8-7 15-11

FIU 5-9 10-17

FAU 2-13 6-21

WEST

UALR 12-2 19-6

North Texas 8-6 15-10

Denver 6-8 11-14

ULL 6-8 9-16

Arkansas State 5-9 13-12

ULM 5-9 9-16

New Orleans 5-10 10-16

As you can see....even if Troy loses out we'd be tied at 12-6, and they'd own the head to head. WKU would have to lose out AND we'd have to win out. Best case scenario at this point is the 4 seed and FAU.

Not sure how all the tiebreakers will work and I'm too lazy to look at everyone's schedule. So I'm gonna half ass the seedings if the SBC Tournament were held tomorrow(I hope the SBC site let's us know what's what soon).

1. UALR

2. Troy

3. WKU

4. MTSU

5. NT

6. USA

7. Denver

8. ULL

9. ASU

10. FIU

11. ULM

12. UNO

13. FAU

That would now be 10 in a row for Troy...and I think you can pretty much rule out a Western Kentucky at large bid. Brandon Hazzard has upped his scroing average 10 points from last season for Troy...he just dropped 35 on WKU.

I'd really like the #4 seed and host FAU in the first round. The #4 and #5 seeds are basically interchangable after the first round since they play each other in the quarterfinals.

I don't really want to play New Orleans. We always seem to struggle with them, despite our win Thursday.

Does anyone else think the best first round matchup for anyone is a home game vs. Denver?

Didn't we win the Sun Belt Tourney as a #4 seed in 2007?

I also want to be the 4 just for that 1st round matchup. Likewise, I am leery of playing UNO again.

We were the 5 seed in '07.

I could have sworn we were the 7 seed in 07. I could be wrong but I thought ULM was the #2 seed and that is who we played in the second round of the tourney.

We were the 5. ULM was the 4.

ULM was in the #2 position until like the last game of the regular season. ASU was the #2(who we played in the final). USA was the 1, but we played MTSU in the semis, because MTSU upset the Jags.

It sure would be nice to get to the 4 seed and play FAU instead of UNO...

Remaining MTSU (8-6) schedule - 2/19 vs. USA, 2/21 @ FAU, 2/26 @ FIU, 2/28 vs. WKU

Remaining UNT (8-6) schedule - 2/19 vs. ULM, 2/21 vs. UALR, 2/26 @ ASU, 2/28 @ Denver

Remaining USA (8-7) schedule - 2/19 @ MTSU, 2/21 vs. ULM, 2/28 @ Troy

I guess we want USA to win Thursday, giving both USA and MTSU 7 losses would mean we controll our own destiny...apparantly we don't have the tie-breaker over MTSU...which makes no sense to me. MTSU has an awkward trip to Florida with games this Saturday and then the following Thursday...then a tough close out game at home against Western. USA gets one likely win at home sandwiched between 2 tough road games.

I'm still not sold on UALR...and I hope the team we've seen the past 2 weeks shows up against the Trojans. Trips to ASU and Denver are always difficult...but when it comes down to it these are inferior opponents and hopefully we play them as such. I think 3-1 will prove to be good enough to get us the 4 seed.
