So does that mean that our old "grenade" celebration would take away one of our TD's

I don't think so. As I have understood this talk, it would only disallow a TD if the taunting occured during the play, i.e. high stepping into the end zone or running backwards into the end zone. Any celebration after the TD would be a dead ball foul.

The change would not affect something like The Gator Stomp from 2007. After a Georgia touchdown against Florida that year, the entire Bulldogs bench emptied to celebrate the score on the field. Georgia was assessed unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, but the touchdown stood.

A touchdown is a bit much but to forfeit the opportunity for an extra point/2 point conversion might make it interesting.

The problem with taking a touchdown is, it is a judgment call and refs will get it wrong at times. A touchdown may be too costly.

Just penalize them 15 yards for the extra point attempt. It might be fun to see if any UNT vs WKY game ever produced a PAT (1 or 2 points) that way.

You know, when I think about it, a subjective penalty that can erase points has horrible potential for point shaving.

Or Ed Hochuli.

Why is it any more subjective than holding or pass interference? They can take points off the board, as well.

whether he strutted or just slowed down from a full sprint. I can see that being very iffy.

This is stupid. Football- and all sports- are a form of ENTERTAINMENT for fans. It isn't some great humanitarian effort, it isn't some great cause. It's a GAME. Stop trying to take the fun and excitement out of everything in life.

Melodrama free of charge.

This rule won't really effect us all that much will it ? Maybe we will get some better field position out of it , but that's about all

I think most of the teams we've played recently have "acted like they've been there before" when they got to the end zone, except maybe WKY. We've beaten them twice in two years; maybe we should encourage taunting by our opponents (at least on their first score).
