The guy has to be on crack! Too funny! Good actor...I wonder if he can sing...hip hop. Has anyone heard him sing? I think he needs a stop in rehab first.

He's gonna make Casey Affleck a lot of money.

You know, Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler went on Letterman too.

This isn't for us - it's a vanity project probably hashed out over a bong because there are enough people who are dumb enough for this. Breakdowns and redemption have made the headlines so much lately (The Wrestler, Britney Spears, etc) that I guess they thought it would be a good idea to parody the entire story arc for their own amusement.

I have an ex-girlfriend who loved this guy more than anyone else on the planet since gladiator and I really hope she is enjoying this crap.

Divine intervention?

"On January 26, 2006, Phoenix was in a car accident in Hollywood on a winding canyon road that flipped his car over. The crash reportedly was caused by brake failure. Shaken and confused, Phoenix heard a tapping on his window and a voice say, "Just relax". Unable to see the man, Phoenix replied, "I'm fine. I am relaxed". The man replied, 'No, you're not'. At this point, Phoenix managed to see that the man was famed, eccentric German auteur Werner Herzog. After helping Phoenix out of the wreckage, Herzog phoned in an ambulance and vanished."

Dude this guy is a piece sh@# acting the way he did on Letterman, he invites him on the show to promote what ever garbage movie he has to promote.

He shows up wearing sunglasses, answering with one word to each question, stoned/half OD'd, and chews gum, then proceeds to mock Letterman on his own show and puts his gum under his table.

I was the host I would have had the stage hands drag him off the show and into the street.

I have lost all respect for him as an actor, he needs to just go away.

Personally, I thought it was the funniest I've seen on David Letterman in a long time.
