1) how is this football related?

2) Why is a fraternity being kick off a campus at another school a big deal?

3) KA kicked off for booze while another fraternity is in trouble for what would appear to be more severe things such as drugs and hazing?

1. KA's have a notably strong intramural program.

2. Why isn't it a big deal?

3. Emmitt has KA's in his cross hairs b/c of the reason they were kicked off campus at UNT and the more concentrated presence of melanin in his skin when compared to the vast majority of members of said fraternity

1) Their inner-tube water polo program is top notch.

2) I guess since it's SMU related...it is a big deal. Hopefully there were some SMU football players who were KA's, they become so heart broken and leave the program.

3) I think his melanin is different than the cast majority of most fraternities

I would bet the other frat will soon be thrown out as well...right now they are investigating the allegations and if even a fraction of what is alleged is true they will punish them. You know, since people are always picking on fraternities for no good reason.

If there's anything I've learned in life, it's that you can't accurately place a characteristic on any fraternity nationwide. I was in a fraternity in college. We probably personified the revenge of the nerds, only without the 4.0 GPAs (back then, you only needed a 2.0 to be a member). Going to other chapters of our fraternity, I've seen jocks, nerds, geeks, choir boys, rednecks, one particular chapter that I was pretty sure had intentions of lynching some of our minority members, hippies, tree huggers and some absolute jarheads. I've seen a chapter in California that I really liked screw up and kill a pledge. I've seen another chapter that I didn't particularly care for shooting their pledges with pellet guns. On the other hand, I've seen chapters that go to church together every Sunday and chapters with cumulative GPAs over 3.5 (yeah Georgia Tech, I'm looking at you).

I've been to chapters of other fraternities that were complete and utter asshats at our school, but super nice guys elsewhere. I never liked any of the fraternities at USC and I would imagine I'd have the same feeling towards fraternities at SMU. You take a campus that is made up mostly of privileged kids, provide them with an environment to be even more exclusive amongst themselves, and good things are unlikely to happen.

I'm aware of some of the history of KA here at UNT and to be blunt, I'm not entirely surprised that such a group would exist. I wouldn't, however, spend time cherry picking other KA chapters that get themselves in hot water.

So basically, I share a set of Greek letters with thousands of other guys that are probably absolutely nothing like me and with whom I don't identify at all. I do, however, identify with the 40 guys in my chapter that I went through school with, and that's all I need. I have told my own fraternity's national office to piss off and stop asking me for money when I think they're going in an entirely wrong direction. As far as Greek life in general, I neither celebrate nor bemoan anybody for joining a fraternity...even KA. I can find all of the above examples, both good and bad, in all walks of student life and all types of student organizations.

My brother-in-law was a KA at Auburn who later got his MBA via SMU.

He said this is par for the course everywhere he saw (which is limited to the wonderful south in general) and he was not shocked whatsoever this happened.

Take that for what it's worth - which is nothing.

You would think people with such high ideals would absolutely hate it when people GENERALIZE. I will save the obvious examples pertaining to race, religion, school attended etc.

Not fair to say the actions of a few=actions of all just because you do not like the group due to rejection, jealousy, IGNORANCE or whatever)

There are many men in these organizations across the globe who have high ideals and are striving to make these organizations positive ,character building organizations. But, unfortunately there are just as many who are working against that.

THINK

oh yeah I forgot this board has lost the ability

That "par for the course" is not limited to KA. I personally knew of other fraternities that could definitely "out-KA" the KAs.

I knew about the trouble KA got in at UNT, but had no idea they were kicked off campus. They got to live in their new house what, like one year?

That sounds right... I think it became a sorority house for a few years after that, but I'm fairly certain the KAs are back in it now.

Yeah...but who wants to chug a fifth of SoCo with those guys?

SoCo? That would seem to be a rather "pricey" drink for the KA's of my generation (1975).

Don't worry - Lttle Tea Bag's dad (that's Trevor's house name) totally owns a ca rdealership and spots him $600 each month. He'll grab it for us.

Plus...when I broke my arm trying to slide down the frat house bannister, through the flaming loop of Bacardi 151 and into the kiddie pool full of beer and 18year old girls with low self-esteem I got a bunch of vicodin. I've been selling them to everyone on the row for like a week now, so not only can we afford SoCo...we can make t-shirts to mark the occassion.

Your activities are intriguing to me and I wish to purchase to your friendship.

We made T-Bag shotgun a medical bag of donkey piss once. Well, at least we thought it was that. something fell out and we realized all too late that it was the dean's new kidney being express mailed in a cooler.

We're totally getting school pro for that one...

Say bra...its not as easy as just cutting a check and all of a sudden you're scoring more talent than American Idol...there's a rigorous initiation process where we need to determine if you're the man of honor and charcter befitting our hundreds of years of tradition.

Also, what's your opinion on goats?

Great replies by oldguystudent and MeanGreenSig and typical responses from the others.

I POLICE THE BOARD - even the section made for this crap.

WHY WON'T YOU TAKE A SMU KA DECISION SERIOUSLY! IT'S SERIOUS! THIS IS NOT FORREST GUMP!

I award points to two and scorn to others. I am the final say!

I expected nothing less.

GREEN P1 - scorned. That, or someone figures you have been Bob Barker'd.

Then why provide him the opportunity? If you expected the outcome...and it was a negative outcome, at least that's what I'm gleaning by your need to elucidate, it would've made sense for you to simply not give Green P1 the chance to reply in such a way that you deem unfit.

I don't think you "expected"(proper usage) it at all. I think you're lying. Lying to the Mean Green Nation. Stop hurting the Mean Green Nation with your posts of slanderous lies, sir!

Look, dudes like to argue. Winning an argument proves how big of a man you are, like making them eat a donut off your wang.
