They just announced it on channel 8 as our new record enrollment. How is this related to football? I'm thinking that there is at least 1 walk on special teams contributor somewhere in that 33,366.

So lets see... 33,366(# of students) * 10($'s) * 12.5(avg credits per student per semester) = 4,170,750 * 2(spring and fall semesters) = 8,341,500 dollars per year

So when does this fee start? When the stadium opens or 2010 or ... ???

When it is completed.

Also, the fee is only charged on the first 12 hours - but those numbers are pretty close. Plus, the fee can go up by 10% per year without a vote until it caps at $20 bucks a credit hour.

i thought fall enrollment was over 35,000

Yes, but the Spring enrollment is always smaller than the Fall - so my guess is that 33,366 is a record Spring enrollment.

BTW - I've noticed 2 billboards on Central Expressway in Dallas that UNT has used for advertising this year - the first one made reference to that record Fall enrollment. Good to see that some marketing is happening.

I love those billboards - I saw five people pull over and contact the university on 635 the other day. That or there was a wreck. I can never tell.

Good enrollemnt numbers, but let me see if I have this correct...UNT has 33,366 spring enrollees and had over 34,000 in the fall...and can't get more than a few hundred students to attend football and basketball games?

Come on folks...get your rears in the seats!

GO MEAN GREEN!

Yeah, the basketball attendance is particularly frustrating. I drive all the way from Irving and PAY for 90% of the games, yet we can't even get a couple of thousand students to walk over and watch a pretty good product for FREE. What do we have to give them to come? I do appreciate the students who support the program(s), but our attendance is downright pitiful. Considering the size of the Denton area these days, we ought to be getting a couple of thousand attendees just from the non-affiliated local population. Really sad.

We definitely need some innovative promotions. Give the students some Starbucks coffee, or have zipcode nights and offer tickets for a buck to people who live in certain zipcodes around the Denton area. Starbucks could probably use a promotion like that these days themselves. Anything within reason to get butts in the seats.

34,795 - 33,366 = 1,429 quitters

Yeah, but a lot of those kids where here when Dickey was still coaching. They probably just couldn't hack it when things changed around them.

Are we still the 4th largest in the state or have we passed UH yet?

(Specifically - total undergrad and grad students at main campus.)

I wonder if we'll ever catch Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad, Pakistan:

1,850,643

With the student athletics fees, we could buy the Cowboys, turn them Mean Green, and DOMINATE college football.

Suck it, horns!

How many Texas Douches do you think that school has?
