I think we sweep. I'm thinking that we are about to make the turnaround that we made around this point of the season two years ago. To you students out there, please do your best to try and get our place packed for the Little Rock game. That could be a HUGE game for the team's confidence going into the SBC tourney, and I know that I'll be bringing several to cheer us on. We've got a lot of talent on this team and I have a feeling that we're going to get it together from here on out.

This is an under performing team. At best 3-3, Probably 2-4.

And NT is signed up for three more years of under performing.

Agreed. We really need to ramp up our OOC play, it is clear that playing one of the weakest OOC schedules in the country does nothing for the conference or our team. There was a time when we needed to play Houston Baptist, UT-Peanut Butter, and various Div II schools from Oklahoma but those times have passed. Let's have a real schedule with real teams.

We had one Divison 2 team on the schedule stebo. Most of our conference mates played at least one as well...including WKU.

True, and Houston, Arkansas, and Okie State aren't exactly cupcakes. If they were we would have won those games. Well, at least we would have lost in the final minute. I hope that is a habit that we are about to break.

Green Bat...do you live on 555 Negative Street? Man, always so negative. You don't like Dodge, you don't like JJ and you seem to always predict doom and gloom for UNT athletics. What's up? I know you are a MEAN GREEN guy and that UNT is "your school", but just wonder why you always see lemons and never lemonade? I know I am pretty much the opposite and have been accused more than once of drinking lots of Green Koolaid. I guess if UNT gets that baseball team you will see some positives, right? But, you will definitely not like the coach, right?

No.

Man, always so negative. You don't like Dodge, you don't like JJ and you seem to always predict doom and gloom for UNT athletics.

Was this three or four questions? Could not tell, no question marks. In responce to the "always so negative." People who know me would not say I'm negative, just realistic.

I like Dodge fine, I just don't believe he is qualified to be a Div. I coach, I still support the football progarm, just not the way he goes about things. And previous results show me to be correct.

On JJ same thing as Dodge. Am I proud that he took us to the Tournament two years ago? Yes. Do I wish that he emphasized better defense and free throw shooting? Yes. Do I wish he was a better game coach? Yes. Do I support the Men's Basketball program? Yes.

On my predicting doom and gloom for UNT athletics. I just call them, as I see them. And have been correct more times than not.

What's up?
The ceiling?, Sky? not sure how to answer this one.

I know you are a MEAN GREEN guy and that UNT is "your school", but just wonder why you always see lemons and never lemonade?

Because I know the people in charge of the program and Lemons are the better alternative to the other "Lemon-colored" liquid substance that the Athletic Department is trying to get you to drink.

I know I am pretty much the opposite and have been accused more than once of drinking lots of Green Koolaid.

I've tried to drink the Green Koolaid, but recently it taste like the other "Lemon-colored" liquid substance. Recent results prove me out, the Women's soccer team is the only program that has had any consistent measurable success.

I guess if UNT gets that baseball team you will see some positives, right?
Yes.

But, you will definitely not like the coach, right?

Depends on if he wins and runs a program that North Texas can be proud of.

Can we please get off the FT shooting thing this year at least?? We're shooting 71.1% from the line which is 91st in the nation. Considering there are like 340 schools that play D1 basketball, that puts us safely in the top 3rd in the country.

Please stop confusing us with facts.

They need to quit shooting so many 3's.

Agree. This is actually one area of the team where I have been pleasantly surprised this year. In years past, FT shooting had been a major sore spot for me, but they've been pretty solid from the line as a team this year.

If we shoot like we did against ULL I don't think there are many teams that could beat us.

I decided to check out the JJ era. It seems that his first couple of years it was stronger than we remember. Then we had a weak three out of four years before a major turnaround in FT shooting was made last year. Also interestingly one of our worst years shooting from the stripe was our SBC championship year.

In '07-08 we shot 71.9% (80th in the country)

In '06-07 we shot 65.7% (265th in the country)

In '05-06 we shot 66.2% (255th in the country)

In '04-05 we shot 70.2% (115th in the country)

In '03-04 we shot 64.0% (295th in the country)

In '02-03 we shot 70.2% (142nd in the country)

In '01-02 we shot 70.8% (101st in the country)
