Huge Seven Game Stretch

Hoping for a return of the magic!!

Here's what we close the regular season with.

LA Lafayette

New Orleans

at MTSU

LA Monroe

UALR

at Arkansas St

at Denver

This is our last chance to make a move in conference play.

I can't make heads or tales of the tiebreakers right now, but basically we could be sitting anywhere from the 6-9 seed with four schools having the same mark. We're only a half game out of the 5 seed, but in reality that's more like 1.5 games since USA owns the head to head on us. Same thing with MTSU and Troy right now - we are down in the head to head against practically every Eastern school.

That could really kill us in the tiebreakers.

Can we? Yes.

Will we? No.

With that out of the way, I'll just say that while I want to see us win as many games as possible (I'm still hoping that with Tournament wins, we can hit the 20 win mark again), obviously I've given up any hope of a round one bye. If we get through this stretch at 5-2, that should put us in line for a 6 seed and probably the best route through the SBC Tournament we can possibly hope for.

MTSU and USA still have some tough games. If we do manage a 5-2 mark down the stretch we could climb up even to a 5 seed perhaps. Obviously that takes into account that we get back to winning again. It is kinda pointless to try and look that far down the road I guess.

We really just need to focus on ULL. Frankly we were lucky to play them when we did the first time.

It seems everyone has given up. I admit, the last couple of weeks have really hurt. To think we were 5-3, nipping at UALR's heels, not that long ago. C'mon though - where are these old standbyes:

Too many 3's!!

Not enough practice for free throws!!!

Alums don't stand up enough!!

No Point Guard!!

:D

I will say it again. JJ is not a good game coach. His coaching has cost this team the last three games. We can beat inferior competition. But when we face teams with equal or more talent. There is a 90 percent chance that JJ's game plan will cost us the game.

I like JJ, but his game coaching leaves a lot to be desired.

And no I did not listen to last night's game.

This is crap. Newsflash - our talent is not superior to many Belt teams(I'd say maybe FAU and Denver would be the obvious examples). Most of us have similar talent levels, no one is really heads and shoulders above anyone else. We have alot of depth, that is our big strength. But also we don't have anyone like a Slaughter to get the ball to in crunch time either(and two years ago when we did have a Watson or especially Davis in the clutch - we won the league tournament). So, basically I'd say in recent years we've been shown to be an average Belt team.

And yes, I have alot of questions about JJ at times, but it's more like a 50/50 proposition when we face equal talent. Obviously, I wish it was much more than that, we all do.
