PHSCoach, no Dodge fan, said there was tackling in practice last year. And, which of us was there at the 2-a-days? Hey, if you say fans were banned from practices or they you know what happened in them, which was it?

I don't have to be there to know what goes on...nautique is not the only one with friends you know. Isn't it fun to believe things are gonna be all better now though?

When I was talking about our players getting hurt in 2-a-days by getting hit, I meant when the coach throws or hits a player with the soft dummy pad things...After that drill happens that's when we separate the boys from the men and THATS when we see TUNE win the QB Battle 2009!!!!

So our players manhood is determined by soft dummy pad things ?? Maybe this is the root of our problems ??

Ok, but I'm also thinking PHSCoach had some insider information, and he said there was hitting.

There has been big time hitting the last two spring practices as witnessed by Joseph Miller blind siding our QB who bit entirely through his tongue on a full contact collision on the press box sideline. Meager got hit, Vizza got hit, all of them were LIVE in practice. Yeah, I saw it and so did the entire team.

That will change now. You want to know the reason? We all know why.

And do you really think Todd Dodge wants to give the job to a player who told everyone on the team he was not coming back? PLEASE!

"MR. T" what's your Prediction? PAIN, no I really mean its Riley (by a large margin of error) to start at Ball State.

No hitting the Qb this year is a good thing though, except if your last name is Tune or Baine.

Riley takes a lot of undeserved heat because of resentment people have for his father and the fear of future preferential treatment. Am I way off with this statement?

You are dead-on with that statement. Period.

It don't if those two are the only reasons why, but it is strange that such a highly-regarded recruit (who has been influential in bringing other recruits here, by the way) would receive the treatment he has from his "fan"base. (Yes, I implied that such people are not real fans. Deal with it).

Just wondering out loud here, but is it possible that in some people's rush to label others "negative" they look at any question about Riley, even a legitimate one, as "bashing"? Is it not fair to question his durability given that he has been injured the last two seasons he has played? Is it that much of a stretch to question things like whether he has a D1 body capable of taking the beating that our QB has taken the last two seasons? Does asking questions like this really amount to picking on the kid?

I can actually see both sides on this. Having questions or concerns does not mean that you wouldn't support the guy if he were the QB when the season starts. That said, there does seem to be a lot of bashing on a kid who has not taken a snap at QB. Not everyone is bashing the kid, but not everyone is giving him a fair chance either.

If you knew the kid and his dad, you would know that the word family used in breaking the huddle during team sessions is phony. The team has seen through this smoke and mirror program.

Dodge is worried about Dodge. Period. Just ask Brett. He knows more than what people give him credit for. If Vito could just really let it fly, it would be amazing news.

I can't speak for DirtySavage, but I don't have a problem with people bringing up concerns they have. There is a big difference between saying, "I am worried that Riley is going to get injured again," or even "I am worried that Riley's arm strength is not what it should be" versus saying, "Riley's glad Gio is gone because Gio can kick Riley's a**" (Link), or "the little man is just going to lay down like Daddy told him to do" (Link).

Emmitt, ask and you shall receive....

I don't think questions about Riley's durability or perceived lack of arm strength are necessarily in bad taste. That said, the above is the kind of stuff that sets me off. It really is ridiculous to read this kind of gossip(and let's be honest, this comes across as sounding like a bunch of jealous teenage girls) on the board....and worse to have it advertised as "insider" information. Whether or not it turns out to be true, it gets old reading the same tripe over and over again.
