Phillips should have called and found out the basis of the appeal for Stradford's eligibility or left it out of the article.

I'm glad that we stopped when we did on the Jacksons. The Jackson Five has already been used. Besides, the additional Jacksons that we need have Andrew's picture on them.. About 1.5 million of them, please.

I don't blame him. Vito also mentioned it and apparently Todge is hush hush as to the reasoning behind it. I don't think it's a lack of making a simple phone call.

I vote Alfonso Jackson. He's a Jackson PLUS we get to tip the hat to the guy who played MJ in a Pepsi spot. A TWOFER!

Although the New Wave kid in me likes the Joe Jackson nod he'd be a bad reminder to all those longing for baseball at NT.

It's related to Hurricane Katrina I believe. This would be huge if we could get him available for next season. I think that there is a good chance that this could happen.

If this was a newspaper article, then yeah. But for a blog entry, there's nothing wrong with mentioning it the way that Phillips did.

I don't know much about how the NCAA works towards these types of situation, but I do know the players in question have to have something really circumstantial before they will allow them to bypass the system that is set up and I have heard of the Katrina deal - my question is, did OU try to get the kid through with this reasoning?
