Well, I'm tempering my enthusiasm a bit, but let's see how it's shaking out:

  • A class that by average star rankings has UNT ranked 3rd in the SBC--after consecutive poor seasons. JUCO pickups were solid. I'm tickled/surprised, frankly.
  • A QB prospect with good size.
  • A TE with good speed.
  • 2 WR's with decent size and blazing speed.
  • 2 OL's with 285 lb + size and legitimate height. 1 3star.
  • 3 DT's with 315 lb + size, 1 3star.
  • 3 DE's with quickness and ability.
  • 3 ATH's with excellent speed
  • Extra DB/LB depth.
  • Addressed kicking game.
In my early-eyeballing estimation, this class has addressed need better than any of TD's classes so far, and it is arguably the best class he has yet signed in terms of meeting need.

[EDIT: Hey, I repeated myself there. I guess I am excited. ;)]

Welcome, guys!

I am extremely happy with what TD has done this off-season. This class addressed alot of need areas(DT,DE,WR) It looks like a solid class that I feel was evenly disbursed amongst JUCO and HS athletes. Getting immediate help while still making sure you have depth being built.

More importantly I think some of the things TD did off the field of play are worth noting.

-Bye Bye Special teams coach

-Hiring a proven strength coach who has been at big time schools, USC

-Hiring a proven DT coach to replace a coach who was in over there head

I like that we really have some pull in the middle of prime recruiting real estate for other SBC schools. I wonder if it pisses off some of our league brethren to go that far into the Southeast when we've got Texas to recruit, too.
