I guess this Tyler Washington thread is as good as any of the (3?) threads about him to say this: He has made me completely quit caring about Chris what's his name going to Texas Tech! I say what's his name because I can't remember how to spell it well enough that I can get any internet hits on him. Now "Tyler Washington", plenty of hits, mostly about what he's done at track meets. So, what is it I like so much about him? Speed! How many people who are called defensive linemen have 4.5 speed and are offered track scholarships at UT Austin?

I say we will start having sufficient depth at D-line by some point this season that when opposing offenses see a defensive line substitution, they groan, because they know that our second string isn't a step down, it's just part of a two-deep rotation that comes on the field refreshed and wanting some contact.

His track offer was for his field achievments, but hey its all the same. You think the NT track coaches are happy??

I totally agree with you, speed kills. His 18 sacks last season is very, very impressive. I think this might be one of my favorite players of this class. Dodge has come on stong towards the end with this class

I was a little concerned about a 6'1" X 225 DE, but I remembered that one of Hayden Fry's DE's was Bernard West. He was smaller (about 6' X 190) than Washington, but he was very fast. He made a lot of big plays while he was playing here. If I recall correctly, I believe his (Bernard West's) nickname was "Alli Babba".
