I agree on getting more DTs.

On the other hand, we lost several WRs due to injury, defection, and graduation. It isn't like we don't need 10+ good WRs with this offense.

In 2008, 10 different receivers caught passes.

7 of whom will be back. Plus Rucker and a few who were redshirted: three, I think it was (Barrett, Brigham, Taylor). LY transfer Jamel Jackson. And we have the three mid-termers (2 JCs and the OU transfer). Add Mayberry. That would give us 16 plus walk-ons, unless somebody has left I don't know of.

Having 10 would be great. Having 12 would be ok. Having 16 plus is way too many considering needs in other areas. If we didn't other needs, who cares?

Any freshman WR in this class, Mayberry, should RS. The OU transfer won't be eligible this year and I would hope our RS freshmen will not be counted on to start.

Unbelievable! We get a transfer from OU and people still complain. You all must be the ones unhappy with you 100 dollar bills.

Are Rucker's legal problems behind him? Is he still with the program? Can he keep his nose clean?

What is this plethora of WRs you speak of?

Returnees by No. of catches:

Lott

Dickerson

Roberson

B. Johnson

Redshirted/unknown commodity:

Rucker

Taylor

Barrett

Brigham

Jamel Jackson (special teams specialist injured, never played)

Mid-year guys:

Outlaw

Jamaal Jackson (damn, that could be confusing)

Stradford (not until 2010)

True freshman:

Mayberry

That's 12 available next season without Stradford and not many catches or much experience. If we get to depending on other walk-ons not mentioned, we're in trouble. You seriously underestimate our level of need at this position, given our current predisposal towards attrition/injuries. Still think we don't need Stradford?

Wow, we get some much needed talent in recruits and transfers, have some promising players, and some of you still whine. Be happy, next year may prove to be different.

When a quality player with his size and speed wants to play for us, that is very good news. Let's enjoy some of the positive events that have happened over that past few days on the football and basketball fronts.

I sincerely hope this is a bunch of sarcasm/joking that isn't translating very well via message board...

If we get a transfer at any position... from a program like OU...a very talented kid, especially one that has good grades and doesn't have any off the field problems... And this is the thread we come up with? Apologies to those of you that were sincere in your enthusiasm for this kid, but the rest of you are out of your minds.

I thought the same thing when I saw someone post something negative about the ground breaking being scheduled. Are you kidding? If you are, it is not coming accross that way. If you are not, then we as a fanbase/alumni group don't deserve a competitive program, and we truley are as dumb as other universities think we are...

Why are we wasting a scholly on another wr? Why don't have have 20 DT's in this class? waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.... you are all starting to make me sick to my stomach. STOP IT!

We should all be celebrating this kid choosing to play football at U of NT. I'm tired of reading this board and shaking my head at the posts that I am seeing....

Sarcasm swells in the heart of the Mean Green Nation...

It's how many of us deal with 1-11 B)

I'll say this though.. after the good news about Atkinson, then reading Harry's editorial about the possible return of the Mean Green defense, and then getting the good news about the OU WR transfer, I'm getting thirsty for some Mean Green Kool-Aid!!!

What started off looking like a big stinking turd of a recruiting class has turned out to be pretty decent.

"All things considered" (as Vito would say) this is actually a remarkable recruiting effort, and we should be very proud of our coaches.

Folks, can we PLEASE cut out so much of the "chatter" and just plain "I'm trying to be funny" stuff? It gets to be a real drag trying to read through all that stuff to get to the topic at hand. Some, sure fine...makes for decent reading...but on and on...enough, Please!

This is a good solid pick-up for Dodge and UNT. The recruiting class is looking better and better. Seems like a quality kid getting no playing time at OU and who saw a chance to play here. Sure, lots of WR's on the roster, but when you have the chance to pick up a quality player...you do it!

Congrats to Coach Dodge and his staff for getting this guy signed and in school. Too bad we have to wait a year to see him play. Better a year late then never, right? Ask OU?

he may never play for dodge.

Is the insinuation that Dodge will be gone by next year, or that he will never play for NT?

I don't thing Kram was stating that he was excited to see him play for Dodge, just excited to see him play for NT.

Sarcasm mixed with idiots mixed with ignorance is an extremely lethal brew...

To clarify - a few people made an obvious joke, a few people are really mad that we have a WR, a few people are jazzed beyond belief, some people are worried that he won't be a good WR for the Philadelphia Eagles someday and some people like...to....'talk'...like...t...his....

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

MEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!

GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!

Didn't the "real" Lonnie Finch transfer from O.U. several years ago?

Not sure , but Jenny Finch will always have a open scholarship to transfer to my house

You are just now starting to get sick to your stomach? This team pretty much made me that way last year.

We will see. I think many said the same of the first Dodge class.
