found this on a sports blog I read today.......

Good story from Jeffrey Hunter, who writes: “Back in the 1980s, I was one of the two guys who did the 8mm coaching films for Auburn football. North Texas came in for a non-conference game and forgot their uniforms, so the AU staff stayed up all night putting green numbers on spare AU away jerseys. North Texas ended up wearing AU away jerseys with blue and orange stripes and green numbers — it was a hoot.”

Was anyone at this game and did that really happen?

We played Auburn in 1981 when Bob Tyler was the Coach. We lost the game ( :o ) 0-20. I don't remember reading anything about us forgetting our jerseys, but it wouldn't surprise me. Perhaps that's why we only lost 0-20. The Auburn players couldn't concentrate for laughing at us so hard.

Would this be one of lifes most embarresing moments?

How about the famous "no punter" scene on 4th down,

and the deep snaper sends the ball through the end zone.

I believe this happened under Simon's watch.

When Judy Buckles (Nelson) was women's basketball coach, she called my office to tell me that they had left their uniforms in Denton and played Southwest Texas that very night. We sent a grad student to San Marcos and got the uniforms to them just in time for the game.

Read that on UniWatch the other day, but didn't post it. Kind of wish there were pics, though.
