Ditto to what you said and a couple of additional comments.

It has been necessary to raid the JUCOs this year for two reasons. We need immediate help in certain areas and we had a very thin (12) sophomore class last year. With attrition, it would almost like losing a complete class if we didn't replenish with JCs. It seems to me that the talent level was a little better at the junior college level this year although the competition was pretty fierce, especially against people like UAB, who need a quick reload.

This is such a critical year so I think that anyone who can make the 2-deep roster should, regardless of size or experience. If there are few redshirts this year then so be it. Put your best players out there, rotate them enough to keep them fresh where possible, and go full bore. There may not be a next year for this coaching staff if this is not done.

Two defensive linemen developed pretty well last year. Both Russo and DeSoto had some good statistics when based on minutes played. I wish that both had another 20 pounds each but they both deserve a lot of playing time until they prove that they can't handle it.

This may not be Dodge's best recruiting class by rating but I like the makeup of the class so far.

Two more weeks to go before national LOI signing day.

With 15 commitments, the 2009 class is shaping up to be a

pretty good class. I do like the LB's, the DE, the WR's, big OT

Jeremy Bean. I sure hope DT Atkinson stays loyal to NT.

I think, this class will have some more OL and DL prospects, and

I would not be surprised that a top RB commits to NT as well.

The next two weeks are going to be fun!

I would like us to get to the point where we are redshirting almost our entire recruiting classes.

Well, I would say the 2008 class is a good start. It appears every player that made it to campus is still here considering we only lost Horton and Edwards. Well, I guess Edwards came to practice but never started classes.

Again, the 07 class was thrown together in a hurry, so I give the staff a pass on this group although eleven of the 19 that signed are still here as well as some that walked-on.

Joey Byerly called me and wants to know why 11 out of 19 didn't mean more for him.

I think Deloach is having a big impact on this year's class. Atkinson is a must. Can't afford to lose him at this juncture.
