Guess we are a long way off from having a dedicated special teams coach. At least we all like coach Gandy.

Yes

Gandy was a special teams coach at Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech.
UNT will now look for a defensive line coach to complete its staff.

I see the point now. Unless I'm mistaken, he was never a dedicated special teams coach at any of his previous stops.

His bio on meangreensports.com only mentions having special teams coaching during a one year stint at Miles College in Birmingham, AL in 1990.

Huge pressure on this guy (well, hopefully, at least from this board) for next year. Hope he knows many eyes will be focused and will expect improvement (which shouldn't be hard). Other than that, welcome Coach Gandy.

So our new coach isn't new? Was he helping with Special teams last year here? If he was here and had experience - why was he not helping? our RB's sure don't get used that much sans blocking.
