Thanks for the post-Gio article Harry!

One thing's for sure... never a dull moment at good 'ol UNT

I am excited to see what Riley and Tune can do behind a revamped OL with the addition of two speed guys at receiver. I also agree that we'll see more DL JUCO commits than we have announced at this point. Not sure what to think about Atkinson - I guess that's the risk you take when you are going for high-caliber players. I am mostly looking forward to seeing Cam next year as a starter all season - that guy may have a very special year.

Alot of assumptions that players that have never seen D1A competition will make this team better. I hope your right. I do think the O-line will be a strength, but think we still have HUGE problems on the defensive side of the ball.

Again, this is a team that showed no improvement last year. While I am hopeful, I just don't see the same rose colored outlook.

Good points all. It's very possible that we could be better, talent and experience wise, this season. In fact, I expect us to be. But, will that make us a better team? I don't know. The downside is public perception and possibly reduced team morale.

Please don't misunderstand this analogy. To the unwashed public this has the appearance of rats deserting a sinking ship. Not to mean that any of the players are/were rats. Most gave it their best shot. I'm sure that Vizza did. Gio was a tough kid who took a lot of punishment but he always seemed up to the challenge. He had a few drawbacks this past year such as making correct decisions and throwing the long ball but he was still a good quarterback. More than that he was a leader. I'm worried that if his teammates see him giving up, they might be compelled to give up also.

Vizza has every right to stop his own bleeding. I do not fault him for that. Even though he didn't say so, he probably that he will get the shaft, much as Meager did when Vizza replaced him. So, godspeed Gio, I wish you well.

Now, barring a morale problem, I agree that we could be better post-Vizza for the reasons cited. Hopefully, we can add improved coaching to that list. We need to keep thinking positive but realistically, we may be literally going down for the third time.

Question: What happens to Rodge if Todge's magic number isn't met next season and is let go? Do you Honestly think Rodge would stick around?

Maybe RV isn't granting Vizza's transfer because he sees this happening in the future with Riley.
