So, Will The Offense Improve If We Add Some Tight End Sets?

Recommended Posts

Nope. It wont.

It is not about the offensive system. It is all about the execution of whatever system you implement.

.. and the caliber of players.

Look at Navy/Ga. Tech.

They run the freakin' triple option. How out of date is that?

Again: A good coach adapts the system to fit his players, regardless of overall philosophy. Look at Oklahoma, when they ad AP they used a power running game with two tight ends and a fullback. When they had Quintin Griffin who was more of a scat back, they used a shotgun formation with draws and such.

Now they have a Heisman QB, so they run a complicated offense that takes advantage of his ability to read the Defense (that is not Florida)

at UNT when we had a quality back (J Thomas) we used him by .. .not giving him touches and passing like crazy .. to other guys.

And when we had a freshman stocked offense we ... hung our QB out to dry by not protecting him and forcing him to chose between guys that can't get open or the double covered guy.
