State Of Texas To Freeze Tuition And Fees?

Heard something on the radio...that the Texas legislature was going to or has passed law forbidding Texas Colleges from raising tuition and fees. Has anyone else heard anything about this? Will this effect the UNT student athletic fee?

If true, it's bittersweet. I need all the financial breaks I can get for the next couple years. I wonder if the athletic fee would even be affected since it wouldn't kick in for X years.

Tuition. They can't freeze fees.I wouldn't worry about the athletic fee, the students have already approved it.

"Besides the two-year tuition moratorium, the bill would peg future increases to the cost of living and require that most fee hikes be approved by a majority of students."

Why couldn't they have done this when I was an incoming freshman back in 2000??

It is a big step from the legislature talking about something and actually doing it. The folks who thought they had a new law school for UNT through the last session will be among the first to shout "Amen" to that. Don't worry about what the legislature is going to do until about May 1st. That is when they start to get serious about things.
