Timing Is Everything

This looks like, hopefully, the first step of the public fundraising campaign. To place the new stadium on the cover and do large article on the stadium indicates that that this IS going to happen. I doubt that the university would put itself in a position to basically promise the stadium in this publication, and then come back to the students and alumni with "umm, nevermind" at a later point. I think that they probably have the financing already in place and are just awaiting approval from the legislature and construction elements (permits, final plans, etc...) before groundbreaking occurs.

This is great news for this athletic program and this University.

But, then again, what do I know.

***Then again, after re-reading the article, maybe there is a reason to be wary***

Nice editorial Harry. The questions you bring up are why we need better information and communication from the Administration end. The NT magazine questions "now will alums do their part?". I believe they will when they have all the info and are shown the what/when/how/ of a campaign for a stadium. A link to an email address is not the best way to entice giving, but it seems the current NT way. Perhaps they are waiting until the Legislature signs off on this (really the final ok that is needed for the student fee to be bonded against) before the alums get to hear all the details about the stadium and UNT actually conducts a legit campaign? Too many questions, not enough answers yet. Sorta like our football program right now.
