Espn was reporting about three minutes ago that Mike Shanahan has been fired in Denver.

Jerry take your jet out of the Addison hangar and fly to Colorado....

That is very interesting. I don't know why they fired Shanahan. He has been a solid coach for them for a very long time and they just didnt have the defense to compete this year. Not a very good move on Denver's part in my opinion.

I don't even remember an NFL without a Shanahan in Denver.

I was bored so I just looked it up :

1984-87 Denver Broncos' QB coach/ OC

1988-89 L A Raiders' Head Coach

1989-91 Denver Broncos' QB coach

1992-94 San Fransico's OC

1995-2008 Denver Broncos HC *

* 138 - 86 - 0 , 8 - 5 in playoffs , 3 AFC West Titles , 2 Super Bowl Championships

I don't get this firing unless they think they can land Cowher.

Daniel Synder feel free to bring Shanahan to WASHINGTON!!!

I was thinking the same thing too..... Why would Denver fire him and also so abrubt.

They must think they can get a great coach in there to do much better. Also what is all this talk about Cowher, he is a good coach but not a superstar.

ESPN reported yesterday that what happened in Denver could have huge ripple effects going all the way to Dallas and Washington.
