Can we all just agree that gays are terrible, evil, and disgusting creatures? I think they should be forced to wear a very specific rainbow logo on all of their clothing. That way they can't trick us by acting all straight sometimes. They can be so deceptive.... ugh... I'm shivering just thinking about them.

Not true..."they're a clean people and have been ever since they came over from France"

Like all successful politicians, he's a centrist.

I have always believed that Obama wasn't (and isn't) against gay marriage, even though he stated the opposite to keep the bat-$h_t-crazy religious right from mounting much of an offense against him. I think he is going to engage that crazy faction more and more and (metaphorically speaking), slowly and regularly, slip a little lithium into their drinks.

I think that the gay community will eventually get their right to marry, Obama just needs to distract the crazy religious right long enough. And that will take a little time.

He just states that he's not against gay marriage to keepthe "bat-$h_t" gay/lesbian left from mounting much of an offense against him. Maybe he's just distracting the crazy gay left long enough to not pass it.

There, fixed it for ya.

That is the problem of being busy at work, I try to type when I am on the phone and it is sometimes halfassed.

I don't give a care about social policies, but Obama is clearly a liberal when it comes to economics, taxes, and expanding federal power.

That's all I got to say about that.

---The current administration's policy of removing federal regulations on business and Wall Steet has really worked out well hasn't it.

---Personally I don't trust those guys (financial and business execs.) when money is involved and they personally can get more of it... especially at the cost of the investors and tax-payers.

I think you listen to Rush too much or at least believe all the BS those type of guys put out. What is truth is and what they claim it is, is not the same at all.

You mean like when Clinton and Co. made it easier for Freddie and Frannie to make loans to more Americans, allowing people to buy more home than they could afford? How's that working out for us again?

Finally, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 came during the Bush Administration. That is about as far away as you can get from the removal of federal regulation as you can.

The government always over-corrects when it comes to regulation of business. I expect the same in response to the financial/housing difficulties we are in right now.

Did you miss the links in one of the previous political pissing-contest threads about how private companies made more of these loans than everyone's two favorite scapegoats.

Fred and Fan also brokered a lot of the mortgages for those companies. Needless to say, it was the Democratic led initiative to get more people in to homes, even if it meant buying more house than they could afford.

BS. Countrywide was the #1 lender of ARMS, IO's and HELOC's in the country, followed by several other large PUBLIC companies. A private lender wasn't even in the top 10.

Um. They didn't.

Fred and Fannie don't make the subprime loans that caused the current housing crisis.

Public = not government backed (at least until the bailout) in this situation.
