hmmm, judging by the article he is not a solid commit, I am guessing if he de-commits most of the fans will be blamed for his decision to maybe choose Colorado or Arkansas.

“They were up front with me about what the program is about,” Atkinson said. “I asked the players about what the coaches were like. They told me they were concerned with where the team would be in the long-run.”

Hmm. <_<

Well, assuming that (as reported) all of the coaching staff returns, then I have to agree with their concerns. <_<

So this is a confusing line. Are those current players thoughts OR are current players saying that the coaches are concerned where the team will be in the long run?

I'm assuming that the current players are saying (and conveying this to Mr. Atkinson) that the coaches are concerned with where the team would be in the long run. I'm assuming that this meant that the current players think the coaches are looking out for the teams long term interests.

And (if the current coaching staff stays intact) so am I.

I'm surprised no one else mentioned this:

They said that they are going to start on it this summer and that I will get to play in it.

Either they are planning to redshirt Atkinson, or . . . they're not actually saying that thing could be done before the start of the 2010 season, are they?

I think you may have taken the quote out of context. Here is the quote including the paragraph above it:

UNT’s coaches told Atkinson that the program has some improving to do to get to where it wants to be in the next few years.

“They were up front with me about what the program is about,” Atkinson said. “I asked the players about what the coaches were like. They told me they were concerned with where the team would be in the long-run.”

I take it to mean that the coach's concern is on improving the program to get it to where they want it and that this may take a few years. Just my take, but I'm sure TFLF will come on here shortly and clarify.

As bad as things are going around here, I fear he turns out to be another Alonzo Horton, or this soft verbal turns into him jumping to the next BCS team that offers...I have a horrible feeling that we lose this guy somehow :(
