Does this make any sense?

We go to ULL for a game on Thursday Dec. 18.

Then we play at UNO.......on Monday Dec. 22

Is this idiotic scheduling going to require us two different trips to South Louisiana (and back)? Or are we going to have to stay in hotel rooms....an extra day or two.

There is no reason for this. UNO plays at ULM on Friday the 19th. I guess they don't want them playing on back to back nights. But why that game couldn't be on the 18th...is beyond me.

Nitpick. YOu can always find something that doesn't work out perfectly in any conference.

I'm grateful we don't have to do the SJSU/Hawaii roadtrip every year. Nevermind that in the WAC you also have to throw in those Boise and Fresno teams that are also far out west.

Right on, SUMG. Also, in my opinion no team in the Sunbelt should have to play another Sunbelt team if it is not a home and home. We go to Western Kentucky and they don't even have to come to Denton. No very fair.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most divisional conferences play this way during the bball year:

You play a home-and-home with every team in your own division.

You rotate teams from the other division for home-one-year, away-the-next.

You play everyone in your division every year (so twice each, counting the home-and-home).

You cover the other division teams over a 2 year span.

That would be the way it worked if we had an even number of teams. But we don't. So, it causes us to have scheduling anamolies. I believe that every year we play one Eastern team TWICE.....but play one of our divisional teams only ONCE.

Let me get this correctly...we play in Lafayette on THURS night..then we play in NO on MON night. MMMMM...that leaves FRI, SAT and SUN nights in between.

Couldn't/wouldn't we just lay up in NO for the weekend? Sounds efficient to me, consistent with minimum (physical) stress on the players, and probably cost effective. OR, we could travel half the time on those days and get to spend a night in Denton. Which one would'ya rather?? :D

(Actually, I'd rather John's avatar)

We certainly caught a bad Conference schedule this year.

Middle Tennessee (the pre-season favorite) is the Eastern team we have to play twice.

La Monroe (one of the weakest) is the Western team we get to play just once.

We play both Western Kentucky and South Alabama on the road.
