Old Timer is requesting that if you're at any UNT collegiate bass tournaments....and there are recruits there, and they are wearing their bass fishing letter jackets....try and get some names.

But be discreet about it.

This year we really need to focus on picking up some guys who are versatile. They really need to be able to use live bait & articificial lures.

What an embarassment...and on our home lake!! Were we down 35 bass by lunch?

Those guys that we recruited from Minnesota suck. They waste time every tournament, trying to cut a hole in the lake. Idiots.

You guys are all too funny. If I may be serious for a moment, this was UNT's first year in the tournament and I would agree with some that I would have expected our guys to do well since Lake Lewisville is so close to Denton. You'd think they'd have fished there a few times already. I worked on the production crew for the tournament last year and I was honestly surprised by the turnout. There were about 30-40 teams then and that was doubled this year. Collegiate Bass Fishing is club sport, so there is practically no support from the schools financially. The guys that came in from Wisconsin and Washington had to drive their boats in like everyone else. Seems like a lot to pay out of your own pocket. On the plus side, if you get into the tournament, you get a whole lot of swag. Last year, each team got to go on a spree at the Cabella's store.

I am shocked that UNT was in the tournament after all.

I am also shocked that we did sooooo poorly especially having the national freakin championship at our home lake

Even more shocked that this is the most popular thread of the day....

If we didnt have HS bass instructors we could have placed higher in the tourney...

On a more serious note, are the two bass guys who represent UNT provided with funds from the Athletic Dept or Rec sports, very interesting to find out.... Way to go UNT for getting the name out there.

Two weekends before the tournament the DRC clearly stated when and where practice was to be held, but when I drove out to the Marina to put in to go see them practice the lake patrol had the ramps blocked and said practice was closed and that I needed to immediately turn around and leave...now! So the next week, only 5 days prior to the tournament the DRC again plainly stated when and where practice was going to be held(on the Northeast fork of the lake in the channels), but when we drove around by car just south of HWY 380 and pulled up to the location we were notified practice had been moved to the Indoor bass tank at Cabella's. Apparantly it was a bit too cold and windy to get anything accomplished that day on the lake?
