Impressive Crowd Today

We also had a game the Saturday after Thanksgiving in 1999. I remember because it was my first season in the Green Brigade and I had to cut my Thanksgiving break short to attend the game with the band. I remember that it was not well attended. There was maybe 1K INCLUDING the band!

I'm not sure there was even a full 1000 at that game. One of the positives about the program now is we will get bigger crowds for games. We are starting, just starting, to reach the point where people come to see the Mean Green and not whomever we are playing. This was a truly terrible year and we must start winning more on the field, but we won games during the Dickey era and still no one came out and only a few donated money. Two of the changes under Dodge is more people are coming to the games and we are getting a record number of people making donations. Even though it will certainly drop next year, I think ticket sales and Mean Green Club memberships will remain above the Dickey era levels.
