Honestly, the concept and my use of it beats my ass and I am forced to use it for work since its the new (to some anyway) hip, social networking trend for media and marketers alike. After following about a combination of 60 or so friends, businesses and amusing fake profiles (the fake michael bay is greatness), I cannot figure out the point at all.

Anyone have any perspective or want to convince that this is not utterly pointless?

I tried it for 3 weeks until I realized how INSANE it is to want everyone to know what you're doing every single waking hour of the day. I don't care what most people are doing. If I did, I'd call and ask. I think its lunacy.

So I deleted mine. Myspace is next. Facebook, I think I'll hang on to that one for a while. Great place to troll for high school chicks.

Glad you all confirmed what I already knew. We have a vendor that is monitoring Twitter updates for key clients in "real-time" and it just makes me die inside.
