Aren't you a student and newly married? Maybe I am confusing you with someone else..

I assume no kids, and maybe no house payment? Maybe, if you are in college, no car payment either?

With that little responsibility wieghing on you, then I say, hell yeh.. go for broke, put all you can in.

I am a grad student, married, own my own house, have a car payment, and currently work as an IT Director. I've been in IT for 13 years.

People need to live within their means... if they don't have enough to save and invest, they are living beyond their means so I really don't feel bad when people fail to plan for the future. All i can do is take care of my own family, and the free market allows me to do just that.

Good, great for you. We are in the same boat.

No one's 401ks are doing well... nor is mine... but I am far from starving and have money to invest and live within my means.

Doesn't stop me from doubting free market self regulation or the inevitable greed of human kind to only look out for themselves.
