After leading 31-3 with 8:02 left to go in the 3rd quarter, Blakney calls only 5 freaking running plays the rest of the game, instead choosing to pass and stopping the clock, giving LSU all the time they needed to get back into this thing. Un damn believable.

LSU's so freaking lucky? Desparately needing the ball back and down by 4 with 6 minutes to go, they are forced to punt and a squibber hits a Troy player in the back, LSU recovers setting up LSU on the Troy 20 and the eventual game winner. Then Troy, trying to drive for a FG with 3 and a half minutes to go, hits a reciever down to the LSU 38 and gets a holding penalty? At least the 40,000 fans who left didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the comeback.

They showed a graphic during the game. LSU was 32-0 against the Belt teams going into this game. This would have been a first win ever by a Belt team over LSU.

But Blakeney let it slip away....

Wow, that game was un freakin real. lsu started the game by underestimating Troy. Troy started the second half underestimating lsu. I got to watch the second half and could not believe blakney kept passing, and stopping the clock. Anyone could have figured out that running the clock was the best idea. However, late in the 4th, after lsu had taken the lead, Troy was forced to pass down the field on either a 3rd or 4th down. The lsu DB clearly ran into the Troy reciever, knocking him off balance and to the ground before the ball reached the reciever, and the refs let it slide. Once that happened, it was clear the refs would not let Troy get a chance. But it still should have NEVER come to that.

Great game, but the national media thinks that Troy is a joke. That sums up the Belt conference. Sunbelt will never ever be thought of as anything other than a joke.

Look what Houston did to Tulsa.

First Briles leaves Houston (after getting that program going) and brings Baylor back to life....in only his FIRST YEAR. And now UH is kicking Tulsa's ass with THEIR FIRST YEAR HEAD COACH.

Whoever is making the decisions about hiring head coaches down at Houston needs to tutor our administrators. And BTW, does anyone know if Sumlin was interested in our HC opening two years ago?

good post, damn good question. The Baylor and Houston offenses are so multiple it makes your head spin.

Every week there are more and more examples of FIRST Year Head coaches doing far more than what ours is doing in his second year, but then most tell us it is just a few that have that much success.
