I would love to see a break down of GIO's passes, regarding who he has thrown to in percentages.

i.e.

Fitzgerald 98% thrown to

Stickler 1% thrown to

Alex Lott 0.50% thrown to

etc...

/taking the sarcasm hat off

No really, I would love to see this sort of breakdown.

It just shows how weak UNT is at WR. UNT is after three JUCO wideouts. UNT desperately needs WR's who can play and play now. Gio has had no help this season at WR.

Yea it'd sure be nice if that one guy hadn't left the team. What was his name again? Do you remember?

Yeah I do smart ass. And I would have said the same thing even if he didn't leave. Dib was a good possession WR, period and never dropped the ball, period.

As I say every year. The ideal situation would be for the JC player to transfer at mid-term and participate in spring drills. That way they have a better chance to actually make an impact early in the season.

So these JC's will come in next fall rather than in January??? This is dumb recruiting. We need them here for spring drills like you say.

Deep Green, Vito is saying they would be ready this coming January and ready for 2009 spring ball.

Just shows you how off our rookie coaches were at evaluating talent when they were hired. 18 WR's later, we are desparate for more.

I would think things like needing meeting admission requirements, enough credits to transfer, getting housing for next semester at this time of the year, money if they don't get a scholarship, grades, etc. all factor in. I do not attribute it all to "dumb recruiting". Why would the coaches not want them here if at all possible?

I think they recruited some quality receivers but some things happened coaches didn't count on and many are now gone.

Some transfer in January, and some (because of their academic situation) can't transfer until fall. All I'm saying is that the ideal situation would be to land some impact JC players that can transfer in the spring.

And the biggest impact needs to be in the DL.

I guess Todge hasn't figured somethings out. Unless your in the SEC or Big XII you don't have to have top of the line WRs or RBs.

A great OL will make any average RB look great , thus opening up a passing game and making the QB and WR even better than they are. A great DL will make average LBs and DBs also look great. The game always has and always will be WON in the trenches. This is not a 7 on 7 passing game. Get us some BIG Beef on both sides and our WR / DB problems will go away.

Just look at the NYG last year. They had NO secondary at all last year , yet they shut down one of the greatest passing teams in the history of the NFL. How ??? A operpowering DL.

We could have 20 5 star WRs on the roster , but it would make us no better if we had say 2, 2 star lineman.

He has too do what he can to get these LINE kids in here..it has to be his top priority !!!!!

Bye Weeks suck

Hey Guys while we are talking about what we need next year, let go ahead and give that UT center that was thrown off the team for some racially unsensitive comments on Facebook a second chance and give him a schlorship at NT.

What do you think?

Like Silver Eagle stated....if a HS player is academically qualified to go to a Div 1 school he can transfer at mid term. If he was not academically elgible coming out of HS he has to wait until he graduates from a JC and qualifies academically.

Who is the JC LBer going to replace??? I am guessing they are not happy with Penson...I was of the thinking that Penson was pretty decent.

I would still like to see more DL coming in this weekend

I bet if we gave him a week to post on the non unt sports board, he could really win a lot of you over
