There is no question NT is going after quality players which might be one reason we only have 5 commits at this time.

NT has 22 prospects (that we are aware of) that are listed as 3* and 1 a 4* by Rivals and Scout. Of that 23 number on 2 we are not aware of a NT offer, 4 are committed to other schools and 1 that no longer listed NT as interest. That leaves 3/4* 17 known prospects that we are still in contention for.

Keep in mind that we have over known 80 prospects that list NT.

Keep in mind we are aware of only 33 NT offers....and have been told that NT has MANY more offers out there so there may be move 3/4 * figures.

we will be legitimate contenders for these guys once the new facilities are in place. right now, I'm not holding my breathe....

3:10 update....a SMU 3* "solid" verbal commit WR is still being recruited heavily and is visiting elsewhere....He lists interest in NT among others..don't know if NT is pursuing him or not. Oh I would love to get a recruit that SMU had a commit from like last year with DaWaylon.

As I posted in another thread Dodge will (should) be going after players who can contribute immediately and not look for projects or redshirts. He needs reinforcements now and not troops for later. Next season there will be even more pressure to win and win fast, the future is now.

      Morris needs to own the Caponi hire

      Just win. Yes, win with class, but win. Figure out a way to get this team to 8 wins or better, win a bowl game, and I won't care if your granny is our DC.

      Morris needs to own the Caponi hire

      Morris listened to Caponi in the 2023 off season when I presume Caponi said he could rebuild the defense to fit the system. I have a few things I would like to point out. 1) First, Morris not firing Caponi after season 1 is low risk. Caponi is on a 2 year contract and if it doesn't work out, reload in 2025 with a new coordinator. You don't disrupt the pipeline of players coming in recruit and transfer portal wise, and you try to make it work. I don't fault Morris for this decision. 2) Firing Caponi after last season could do a couple of things. It would make any potential DC leery of taking the spot if they think they won't get a couple of seasons to try to turn things around. As HC, Morris needed to afford a second season to Caponi. 3) Firing him midseason will not help the morale of the locker room 4) We're in our third non-conference game going into our fourth 2-1. If there is any time to try to figure stuff out it is now, prior to conference play. I want to see how this defense does in conference play. I am not defending the horrible defensive performances over the past season and a quarter. We have to consider all angles of this and it is still very early in the season.

      Oregon State AD: Pac-12 will look to add new schools quickly

      The new PAC won't be treated like a power conference but it will unquestionably be the dominant G5 conference in both football and basketball. We'll see what kind of pitch they're able to make to Memphis/Tulane but if they are able to lure them out of the AAC it will be an absolute war between any of the remaining viable options for PAC expansion.

      USA Today Re-Rank

      USA Today has moved us from a rank of 100 to 97. Maybe, if we had lost by a larger margin , we might have climbed even higher.
