Come on E. I know you don't believe in Obama's policy's man. I know you don't. Regardless of his terrible tax plans, his admitted spite for this country and extremely questionable associations, tell me you don't believe in his extreme stance on Abortion and infanticide? Those are not scare tactics dude. Those are facts. He has already gone on record that he will sign the Freedom of Choice Act and has proven on what side of the aisle he stands on in regard to abortion.

The man is NOT who he say's he is. Never has a politician had to distance himself from so many members of his past to try and get elected. He's spent around $300 Million in ad space alone to buy this election and yet he only holds a 2 to 4 point lead.

I don't think any of us wanted McCain back in the spring. I didn't. But please think about what an Obama presidency will do to this great country. His infomercial last night was disgusting in that it went to such extremes to paint this country as bad, having one family who is experiencing hard times to state that their grandfathers had it better than we do today? Their grandfathers, who after surviving 33% unemployment rate during the depression had to go overseas and fight Nazi fascism? And those times were better than they are today?

Come on, think before you vote, please.

And McCain is? No politician is who they say they are. We have Senators getting jail time for lying, arrested in airport bathrooms, soliciting sex from prostitutes, committing lewd acts in the oval office, having extra-marital affairs, etc. I don't think any of these politicians ran under the slogan "Vote for me, I'm the bigger scumbag." They are ALL liars and none of them are who they claim to be. To say that about one candidate and not the other is just not showing the whole picture.
JayDub

While I agree with forevereagle's comments...I must ask this question: Do you know either candidate personally? I'm going to guess you don't...thus, how can you make such a statement with such surety when all you know of either candidate is what you see and read in the news? Just curious if you know something we don't? It's one thing to suspect certain things about certain people...but to say so with such certainty is what bothers me about the anti-Obama folks.

Every living soul has a certain persona they take on in the public eye...anyone who tells you they don't is a liar. I mean, based on this logic and based on what I know about you, I could assume that you wear a fire helmet painted in a NT helmet scheme 24/7. It doesn't mean they are hiding anything bad...

Just sayin'.

Fair enough gentlmen, fair enough. But I notice you didn't mention anything regarding the rest of my post which you responded to. So my question is, are there any issues with Obama that does concern you?

Just curious and am interested in hearing your answers.

Yay! We are now only one step away from the "I don't want to give my money to poor, lazy minorities" threshold.

Please vote the straight Republican ticket.

Look, man, my wife is from Guanajuato and she doesn't buy into the Obama thing. One of the first things she asked me on our first date was 'Why does your government pay people not to work?' At that point, I knew she'd one day be my wife.

There she was, green card in hand, busting her butt cleaning houses and office seven days a week, and in apartments around her, American citizens were laying on their backs all day collecting welfare checks.

Sorry, dude. But, the shoe fits all too often. And, I've got no guilt about the plight of any race in America. None. I grew up in the 70s and 80s in classrooms full of blacks, white hispanics, asians, and middle easterner. There were even some random Canandians thrown into the mix. Same thing in college. Everyone has a shot in this country if they try. Hell, even those who half-ass it do pretty well here.

This country has spent trillion of the "poor." There's no telling how many trillions in addition to that states have throw away on "the poor." Except in rare cases, you have to absolutely try to be poor. The state and federal government already throw program after program at "the poor." And, it doesn't change.

As of the last census, asians surpasses caucasians in average annual income earned. Why? They work their butts off at school, home, and work. Most of them didn't speak a lick of English before they arrived thirty years ago, not they've surpassed the American black, hispanic, and white!

Obama/Pelosi/Reid can throw as many trillions as they want into the same hole in the name of "fairness." The result will be the same - the lazy, drug-addled, violent, and alcohol-prone will still be poor. And, the people who work will still be not only doing well, but employing other people who are willing to show up and work.

I love America. I love my Mexican wife. I think the whining "poor" in America with their hands out can stick it. The real poor, those who really have some disability or hard luck usually are too proud to go around with their hands out. Those are the only poor I am interested in helping.

Perhaps surprisingly I agree with everything you've said. That, still, doesn't excuse the propensity to paint all Democrats as those who wish to give hand outs to the lazy and unwilling to work. I think even if the most staunch of Republicans' minds it's hard to honestly portray the "enemy" as wishing to enable the masses to be lifetime victims. And if you honestly think that this is the unstated goal of all Democratic policies then you much accept that the unstated goal of all Republican policies is to keep rich white people wealthy at the expense of poor minorities who has systemic racism stopping their every effort to better themselves. Ridiculous polarizations can be drawn on both sides...and with little/no progressive effect on the real questions.

I am choosing not to comment on the rest of your post. I am not mentioning who I voted for (I ealry voted). I have no deisre to get into a one vs the other debate. I just wanted to point out that no politician is who they say they are so we were being fair and calling all politicians two-faced liars.

Oh, I don't know about that. I think that Barry Goldwater was pretty much the person that he presented himself to be.

Look, I'm white. White as a cracker. I have a cousin (female) who has been on government programs. And, she didn't need to be. Her dad, one of my dad's older brothers, was a very successful homebuilder and for 12 years a member of the House of Representatives in a neighboring state. He had plenty of money. He bought every house she and her husband ever lived in.

However, she didn't like the lectures she got when she and her husband (an academic type who was always working on this degree or that), got into a economic pinch and had to call home for money. So, she stopped asking my uncle, who would basically tell her and her husband to wake the F up and get real jobs, and started getting government money.

Therefore, when I speak about this type of thing, I'm talking about everyone. White, black, hispanic, Indian, thee-headed giant...anyone. It is far too easy to live off of the government in this country and Obama/Pelosi/Reid would make it easier.

The last thing I want is for the government to take more money out of my paycheck to give to people like my cousin and her husband. And, believe me, they could care less. They throw the switch for every Democrat that come down the pike.

There is only so much the real workers in this country will take. Americans like my cousin and her husband need the work ethic my wife has. Today, my wife doesn't work because she chooses to stay home with the kids. But, before that, she was seven days a week, balls to the wall. My cousin and her husband, despite advanced degrees, still kick around from job to job, "underemployed", and suck off the government teat like millions of other educated, able-bodied Americans.

Screw that. I'm not paying more in for those type of people.

I know this is sad but it gives you an idea how far some are voting with their hearts rather than their minds. And I'm sure it goes for both sides, but I thought when I first heard this one it was a hoax and just now realized there's video of it from an Obama rally.

"I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage. If I help him he will help me".

Rick... for real?

You don't see it as a way of her saying, "I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car... etc .etc. etc." as her saying, "He will take care of the economy. He will keep jobs from being outsourced unduly. He will make sure wages are fair and health costs won't make me decide if I want to eat cat food, or pay for meds."

You really can see that? At all?

"If I help him, he will help me."

Again, you don't think that is saying, "If I work to get the guy I TRUST in office, he will do all that is takes to make sure I can put food on my table and keep my wages competitive."

You *really* can't see that?

Instead you think it is a call for some entitlement program? You think this lady, from a 27 second clip is automatically a deadbeat?

That is truly unfair. That is pretty disgusting, in fact. I don't make that assumption.

Disgusting? Why is that disgusting? I suppose that's what she could be implying? I don't know. I hope that is what she meant? Can't say for sure but even if that is what she means she is clueless? Why if someone put a camera in your face and you had a chance to say something great about your candidate that you would say that? I can think of a hundred different way's of saying why I like John McCain and "He's gonna put gas in my tank and pay for my mortgage" isn't one of them. No matter how many tax cuts I get, I will always worry about having enough money to put gas in my tank and paying my mortgage. Entitlements? I would say Barack has made quite an entitlement promise by telling the country that he wants to make sure that EVERY child goes to college just to name a few. So, it's possible, this woman believes what she say's. Hell, you act like I made her say what she said? Good grief!

What part(s) of Walmart uses contract labor? Also, Walmart is not all part-time. In fact, the majority of people working for Walmart are full-time.

In question is there egg on face settlements with hiring illegal aliens to clean their stores and actually locking them in; having the largest in history class action sexism suit settled; then to top it off their CEO is on tape talking about how they encourage store in some states to use the public health system to save Walmart money... My mother in law works for that corporation, there are a lot of games played with people's hours to keep the under a certain limit. My mother in law seems to work way more hours than her pay dictates.

"A J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. report in January said the company is planning to "right size" its full-time versus part-time mix to improve productivity and reduce store labor costs. According to the report, about 80 percent of employees are full time. The company is seeking to lower that rate to about 60 percent during the next 12 to 18 months, the report said."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6052502162.html

60% full time? That isn't too much more than "most workers are part time"

This whole thing just gets under my skin, for the way the Bush administration has changed the types of job they consider as "job creation." In the past, no fast food workers were counted as a "job created." Now it is counted. I hope we don't move towards an economy that promotes hard work (aka THREE jobs at 25 hours a week) to make ends meet... and then their family doesn't qualify for any health insurance, because they aren't full time. Then they are told they just need to work harder to get ahead... after all.. it is the American dream.

Nah Rick, I just know you are more compassionate than that... ;) You have a good heart and are passionate about your beliefs. I get it.

I know you would make an educated reason as to why you support McCain. You are more well spoken than most people. You have been in front of the camera plenty of times. I bet this lady hasn't.

We can trade stupid supporters all day...

Absolutely and if you'll read in my first post above about this I said that I know the "Stupid Supporters" thing comes from "both sides.

I like the "One Man Terrorist Cell". Moron. Shaking head.

And not to change the subject, but I'll tell on myself about being on camera last year. Prior to the La Tech game, the NTTV guys come up to me to ask for a qoute about the game, and then asked a trivia question. And the trivia question was "What famous NFL Hall of Famer played for Louisiana Tech?", and I froze like a dumbass, nowhere in the brain did Terry Bradshaw register. I could't believe it later on and hope that footage never surfaces. LOL!

For that Black lady - it depends on how you see it.

It's really, really easy to see it in Rick's way and in John's way.

On my first listen, she sounded hopeful. She also doesn't sound entirely uneducated, either. So really, this depends on who says it and who listens. Since she sounds like she could be an already responsible parent and worker, she could be saying,

"I won't have to worry about the gas prices being really really high and I won't have to worry about employment/mortgage crisis/predatory lending/adjustable rate problems..."

But, if one were to grab someone of less education, they could say,

"I won't have to worry about gas since it'll be free or dirt cheap (or something, I dunno how that one would work). And I won't have to pay my mortgage, etc."

I think the first is more likely since this woman doesn't seem horribly stupid or uneducated. That's not to say Obama supporters aren't stupid in their own right. I spoke with one in Denton the other day, telling me Obama was gonna pull everyone out of Iraq as soon as he gets inaugurated and that McCain was a babykiller. I damn near slapped her for that. Mainly more for the McCain statement than the also totally incorrect Obama statement.

As for that 2nd one, yeah, that's pretty obvious. He's trolling...and it's funny to see it in action.
