I listen to Fox News every day on Sirius as I drive my 3 hours to work. I get so tired of that "what if 'so-and-so' were to do that?!?!!?!" argument.

The news you much malign ignores all kinds of stuff like this about Obama:

I was going to get to the Obama food stamps, but thanks anyways. I'd call that racism, along with some of the statements coming from the radically far-right side of the political spectrum. However, I won't call this hanging of Palin anything more than art in bad taste, if art at all. FYI: Art grad, Obama voter.

But to get to the question of a hanging Obama? Yes, that could be racism depending on 3 things:

- goal of the person making the display

- perception of those viewing the display

- perception of those reporting the display to the public

If the person building the Palin-by-a-noose display intended this to be art or not, it's still in pretty bad taste.

Yep...A picture is worth a thousand words. And, this picture, my friends, tells a thousand words about the guy who did this...he is simply an IDIOT! In NO way is this art or even appropriate for Halloween. We should ALL be outraged by this garbage. It doesn't go for "either side" of the question. This is another example of where this whole process has "gotten off track". SAD, so very sad that this is happening. Have all the "arguments" over politics you want, all the disagreements, all the "who said-they said" you want, but do not stoop so low as to do something like this.

Agreed. All of it is ridiculous. Ya, we may not like certain people but are we seriously going to the point where we are doing this crap? I didn't vote for Obama nor do I care for the guy one bit but if someone did the same to him, that would be pretty upsetting. We are all still HUMAN BEINGS. To say that's inappropriate is an understatement.

Agreed. I don't care who you support...this is out of hand. Just more proof in this country that the movie Idiocracy might not have been too off the mark (of course, the multiple wishes of death I've received via PM just for moderating this forum kinda give me little hope, as well). Sad and stupid indeed.

I agree this in poor taste and has no place in the public arena. With that said, though, if you cant see why a depiction of a black man hanging from a noose would be drastically different then we as Americans lack historical context in addition to good taste.

Totally disrespectful and competely tasteless. I dont care if you like or hate Palin she is a U.S. governor, wife, and mother. You dont ever depict anyone in that type of manner. It is called violence towards others.
