Uca Campus On Lockdown Currently

The Univ Central Arkansas Campus is on lockdown right now due to a shooting on campus.

Will know more later, but wife got called onto campus since it occurred near a residence hall.

update:

3 were shot and 2 have died, 4 suspects on the loose,as well as apparent shots fired at apartment complexes around the campus.

Classes have been cancelled for Monday and campus is down to restricted access at this time and for the near future.

They just finished the 9 AM Press Conference and now there are many meetings to debrief, wife is in one currently that includes some administrators.

Very surreal feeling right now.

The 9 AM press conference also released the names of the victims. Please pray for their family and the UCA Family as whole as we work through the grieving process.

thought I would share some more info my wife told me over lunch.

The Res Lifers on this board would be proud of their compatriots. The young man who was shot and died on the way to the hospital was being administered CPR by another resident and a rookie RA was holding the young man's head assisting, while others helped to move onlookers back until the first responders arrived.

these young people should be commended as well as prayed for, for their actions in trying save anothers life.

As of 4:30 PM a third subject has now been detained and the 4th subject is anticipated to be found soon.

The UCA PD have done a phenomenal job and tonight we had a candlelight vigil for the two victims, I believe one of the mothers was able to make the trip.

It was definately a heartwrenching experience to see and be apart of.

I truly hope noone else has to go through this situation at their respective school or employer.

well good news is all four of these young "gun"men have been caught and are being arraigned as I type. Senseless violence and sad thing is the two victims were innocent by-standers and the intended target came out unscath.

Please continue to pray for the victims families, the four young men who have thrown their lives away, and the students who witnessed and tried to save the two young men.
