One Excuse That Needs To Die

Some really decent comments here folks...some, well, just the same "stuff" that has been posted after every loss. PHSCoach...2 games at D1...how much D1 head coaching experience do you have anyway...just wondering, not "calling you out" or anything like that...your comments are good, just wondeing about your college level D1 coaching experience.

I have to give credit where credit is due. This remark came from Scott Hall the first week of practice that my son was at. When he looked accross the line and saw Awason & Buckles wanting to stomp his ass into the ground just for practice>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

What D1 coaching experience has Ford and George had but they are on the sidelines...................

I really dislike the "Southlake Jesus" comment. Totally uncalled for and disrespectful in so many ways and on so many levels. And, folks who know me certainly know that I am not some right-wing religious fundamentalist. If you must be so disrespectful in your comments, pick another venue PLEASE!

It's called hyperbole...learn to recognize and deal with it. Then again maybe the analogy isn't so far fetched. When Todd Dodge was brought in here many wanted to anoint him the "savior" after the big bad Dickey monster left. Now, even at 0-8 and arguably worse than last season many want to say he is without sin, pointing the finger instead at "lack of talent", "lack of desire", or players "quitting." I can think of only one other person who was a savior without sin. You got a better comparison I should draw?

Sorry I do not agree with you demolition against Troy in 2006 the score was 6 UNT 14 Troy total yards was something like 230 to 245 I don't have time to look up the other stats I will take your word on that but..

You're right Coach. I edited my post. Should have read MTSU.

You were very quick to Run down the previous staff but this staff has done nothing but you want to support then so make it the players????????????

You have me mistaken with someone else, chief. I was not someone calling for Dickey's head, although it was time for him to go. I've been singing the same song for 4 years now.

EDIT:

BTW, here's a thread from that 2006 MTSU beatdown that sounds awfully familiar.

Is It Troy 2008? No, it's 2006--Blast from UNT's past. Back to the Future!

My comments in that thread. Wow, sounds eerie. I'm getting a shiver. Piss shiver, probably...

"You know, I try to be realistic, but that was pitiful.

Physically dominated. Poor execution of plays. QB's running for their lives and making horrible decisions. No intensity.

To say that the OL and QB position needs work is a monumental understatement. Good grief. Painful. I hope there's a lot of freaking ice in the locker room for WW and Daniel Meager, because they are going to need it. Woody made some terrible decisions trying to make something happen. I don't care what any of you think of those two, but they are both tough QB's.

Quite frankly, if I was an offensive lineman on this team, I would be saying "I'm sorry." to the rest of the offense, and buying their damn dinner. Have they worked on blitz protection?? Ever?? Did the coaches scout this team? Did they not know that MTSU would throw the kitchen sink at these young QB's and OL to confuse them?

Hats off to MTSU, as they whipped UNT's ass in every facet of the game.

Hard one to take. Real hard."

Sound familiar? Yet here we sit 2 years later whining about players not in "position to succeed". It would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic.

I don't know Emmitt01...what is a "savior"...is that another spelling of your idea of a hyperbole???? I can deal with your "so-called" hyperbole...just not your compeltely disrespectful "Southlake Jesus" comment. How about a comparison to say, Douglas MacArthur...a general with a widely recognized "ego"!

Here ya go:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/savior

And again, when so many honestly believe that he is here to deliver us from our horrible pasts and that he is beyond reproach...how is my original analogy not strikingly obvious?
