I Am Going To Start The Trend

Basketball's not my sport. I don't really dig it. I do, however, feel compelled to go to some games this year. In order to give myself incentive to do so, I'm going to start the trend of Saturday basketball tailgating. To my knowledge, nobody else in the nation does it. I'm going to be the first. I'll probably be a lone person out in the parking lot for a while, but I bet I can recruit some converts.

Meanwhile, I think it was probably the best Tasty and crew tailgate of the season today. The parking lot experience really does help ease the pain.

I think you'll be happy to discover that there are actually some folks that already do this pretty frequently.

Yeah, a few of the guys started tailgating a few years ago.

And there are plenty of schools who do that sorta thing. Goto the ACC for starters.

Tailgating goes back as far as the 1988 basketball season, when we went to the big dance. There was a lot of interest then, as we had a good team. Back then we called it 'freeze your tailgating'. Our recent mild winters should make it more and more popular ( especially on Saturday game day ) if we can have a winning season.
