Some of you who have been around a long time know who Fred Graham is. He is the former sports information director from the late 60's and 70's at UNT. Anyway, I ran into his son tonight at Sweetwater and learned he is in the late stages of Alzheimer's. His wife, Sid, is the person who coined the phrase "Mean Green" in the press box one Saturday during a game. This is an illness that is hard on both the afflicted and their families. So, if you are so moved, please say a prayer for Fred and his family as they meet the challenges of his care.

Best wishes to Fred. The thing I will always remember about Fred was his thick East Texas accent that made Mean Green come out 'Main Grain' when he was on the radio. Good guy.

I worked on the NT Athletics staff with Fred. He was the best at what he did. He is in my prayers.

Very sorry to hear about Fred. Best wishes for him.

I played in a big band with Mark his son, is that who you talk to? I have not seen him since the early 80s.

Fred will be in my thoughts and prayers. I've known him for many years and Sid was a classmate of mine. Fred did a good job while he was here and it earned him a job as director of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

My condolences and prayers are also with Sidney Sue; the caretakers suffer so much when a loved one has Alzheimers.
