We get your point. Maybe you didn't hear about it, you've been away a long time. They didn't go up there and tell you. We still like to dress up down here for special events.
Maybe he was recruited to play DB?
Pauls Valley, OK looked talented and he had a big run against them. He looks smooth and balanced when running the ball.
Maybe someone with more direct knowledge can chime in, but I believe an NCAA tournament unit is a little over $2M paid out over 6 years or roughly $333K a year. You earn a unit for the invite and additional units for every win. For some reason, I don't think semi-final or final wins earn a unit.
Just on the bids alone, AAC earned 1 unit or $2M and the future PAC earned 4 units or $8M. Depending on conference by-laws, the annual distribution of NCAA tournament units is split between members. The AAC just voted to award the entire first year distribution to the school (or schools) that earned the unit(s) and share years 2-6.
I’m not disagreeing with you, but if this is true, that’s crazy. He’s athletic and has a high ceiling, but he honestly hasn’t done anything to earn such a payday. Ball handling is very much below average. But, yeah, he can run the floor and jump out of the gym so I guess that’s all it takes.
