I learned at last week's Coach's show that Ken Bahnsen scored the first touchdown (first 2 actually) at Fouts Field.

How about having him score the last touchdown at Fouts with a ceremonial walk across the goal line before the game starts (the last game in 2010 I guess) ?

I was with Ken Saturday night and again at Church yesterday. I'm sure he'd do it and since many of us weren't there for his first we could be there for his last.

Then we can tear the place down.

Never say never! I thought that was a novel idea. Make it part of the postgame, then fire Boomer and shoot the fireworks.

Sounds like a helluva good idea to me.

Does Ken still work for the University? I remember taking Drivers Ed (actually - it is a NT class that teaches college students how to be drivers ed instructors and at the same time teaches drivers ed to 15 year old kids) and he was in charge of that whole program... It was in the basement of the Super Pit when I took it for upper level electives credit. Certified me to be a drivers ed instructor in the State of Texas... Is he still doing that or is he retired? I remember him telling us stories about playing and later coaching the Mean Green. I think he was a track coach? Maybe football, too... can't quite remember all the details.

Judge,

Are you really old enough to remember it, or was your dad holding you, then told you later?

2 votes from us to try to do it.

Get Flyer to write a resolution and have SGA pass it, officially requesting it on behalf of the students. That would help our cause too.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure what type of vote of confidence we are giving the team if we have the ceremonial last touchdown before the game starts. :D

So we are in for more FGs that game ? :P

Great point 90 GRAD. If this is done, it must be AFTER the game .

We've got 2 years or so to do this deal. I wonder how many of that 1952 team are still around ? I think it'd be fun to suit them up ( Jersery only) and have them run a play into the same end zone the first touch down was scored. Who did NT play that day ?

And no. I wasn't there.

Lets see, you guys want everyone to watch an 82 year old man run out on the field, and then run into the end zone. Then you're going to fire off a cannon and watch to see what happens.

You guys are some sick puppies.

Personally, I wouldn't want to take anything from the young man who does score the last touchdown at Fouts. I would think a better way to do it is with a ceremony after the game honoring the players who scored the first (Bahnsen) and last (Dunbar? Dodge? ???) touchdowns at Fouts. Then bring on the dynamite.

Just had a thought over lunch. What if Ken still has his jersey OR what if we could come up with a retro replica for him to wear? Now THAT would be cool!
