Well that’s great news but wouldn’t the same be true for Texas State and UTSA?

UTSA is at $20 per credit hour and Texas State is moving to $20 per credit hour over the next five years.

It appears that if we wait for the BOR to increase our fees it will take us almost twice as long as Texas State to get to $20 per hour.

This vote was a big first step and you deserve the majority of the credit.

I just hope RV and the administration understand that we can’t rest now.

I think they need to be formulating a plan right now to keep up and stay ahead of schools like that.

I'm just curious, is there anything prohibiting another vote in 2-3 years?

I would think another vote to increase the fee would be needed at some point after the stadium is built.

Doesn't our number of students make up the dollar gap?

Our size and our number of donors makes up the gap, and I'm sure we'll see more almost immediately. Season ticket priority in the new stadium will be based on the point system, so if people want in on it they will have to buy some tickets over the next couple seasons. UTSA and TSU may gain ground or even briefly take the lead in funding, but eventually we'll be one the top funded athletic programs in Texas. If the BOR is as committed to improving athletics as I believe they are, we'll see those annual increases.

Upgraded student section?? how has it been upgraded?

There will be a section of about 100 seats (real seatback seats) for a student organization selected each week by the athletics department.

Thank you, UNTFlyer, for a job well done. Even though most of us have never met you personally, we would all love to shake your hand and congratulate you on what you and all of the others that worked for this project have accomplished.

How about starting a GoMeanGreen.com "Mean Green Fan of the Year" award? It can be for an individual fan who does the most, either financially, through sweat equity, or otherwise, for the Mean Green nation. I nominate UNTFlyer.

I too would like to express might admiration and appreciation for you... UNTFlyer; and all the work and time you put into this most important vote....you make me proud...I 2nd the nomination of UNTFlyer for "Mean Green Fan of the Year".....well deserved for sure.

I think we have about 5K more students than TSU.

I'm not so much worried about UTSA as I think they will play off campus at the Alamo Dome.

TSU however, is very close in size and has a great campus. They also have the advantage of not being a "directional school" anymore.

This student fee was in my mind about staying alive. We're in the mix now but we can't just sit on our laurels.

College football remains divided between the world of the “haves” and “have nots”.

We can’t afford to have other “have nots” race past us. We have to keep pace at a bare minimum.

In any event - I don't want to sound too negative. This is a great week for UNT.

Thanks again Flyer!!

I too would like to say "kudos" Flyer. As one of those on this board who knows first-hand how difficult and uphill the battle is when you're fighting for change on that campus I can only say that you, sir, are a true warrior! It is people like you who keep the fire burning when so many are trying to extinguish it. You may not even realize completely just what your sweat and time means to those who have held out hope for years (if not decades) just knowing that our alma mater would one day begin to realize its potential. You, and all of the students, are owed a great debt of gratitude.

we should all supply Flyer with all the booze and hookers he can handle.

Don't forget crack-cocaine (hope emmitt doesn't read this).

Seriously though, thanks for all your hard work, Flyer, and good luck in your future endeavors (school, life, and otherwise)!
