UNT head coach Todd Dodge said on Wednesday that he has decided to redshirt both Riley Dodge and Kelvin Drake.

I think this is best decision for the health of these players and for the future of the program.

Our line should be solid next year , not all that deep , but SOLID. I'm a big Dodge supporter , but he will not have any excuses next year if this team is not competitive week in and week out for the whole season

So, if this is the moment we are declaring 2008 a bust and building for next year, what are the expectations? I'll put the over/under at 6-6 for Dodge's third season. :o

The season was a bust after Florida International Airport left town. 2009 Season : 5 -7 , 2010 : 7- 5

My take on TD is that he is a smart coach that will make adjustments as he becomes more familiar with coaching at the college level. This may take several more years. But, to me, he seems like a guy that will eventually succeed at whatever he does.

He may need a longer rope than usual. But, I think it will be worth it in the long run.

Also, TD and his style of play puts butts in the seats. This may be the most important factor of all.

I wouldn't call our o line good yet. I do aknowledge the potential though.

If you are saying that 6-6 is the expectations for next season we could be in trouble, because so far this team hasn't come close to being on the winning side. I think if this team does what many think they will, 0-12, then the expectation next year should be 3-4 wins.

I don't think 6 wins for a SBC team in it's third season under a coach is setting the bar too high.

Real concussion?

Do all you board members believe he has a concussion that keeps him out of the rest of the season? Your kidding right?

Dodge is setting up his boy to play QB, period. He can't take the pounding and needs more time to mature, body wise.

It's a good move to redshirt Riley even if he is being held out to mature. I remember too many threads complaining about him not being redshirted earlier this season.

NT80 hits the nail on the head.

I would strongly suggest Riley and Coach Dodge have already been thinking "their" future at NT is anything but a given at this point. If the stadium vote fails-Riley=bye bye. TCU, SMU perhaps?

Greatest handle ever. I applaud you.

Riley is a good athlete and this is a chance for him to learn the college game while healing and getting stronger. It will be a perfect way for him to become Vizza'a backup for next season, although I still liked his potential at WR to be able to throw some passes from there too.
