NT to burn red shirts on Forrester and Roberson...6-6 and 6-4 wide receivers...hopes to provide more vertrical tendencies to enhance a system of quick routes. They could provide jump ball receptions over smaller DB/s downfield. That makes 2 more freshmen to play this year...over 24 to date I believe, really shows how young our team is.

Roberson had played a little with 5 catches...Forrester hasn't played after suffering a shoulder injury in pre season.

I read the article and it seems to indicate that the plan is still to redshirt Rucker.

this story just reflects how over esitmated the WR recruits have been. using Riley and now burning a shirt half way through the season.

wr's have no speed, cannot stretch the field, and limit our deep threat. all we have is pin point passing, no running game, and a stagnant offense.

I feel for our QB's, the only common WR all season has been fitz. And fitz has struggled this season some.

i am hoping it all turns around tonight. still concerned about not playing bailey, menard, and drake, i just don't get it.

I don't know if they don't have speed. I think it's more about the play calling not utilizing them downfield. I see Roberson run down the sidelines a few times, with a DB he could easily out-jump for the ball...and Vizza doesn't even look his way?

Agree. "UNT’s longest completion this year is 32 yards." For a spread offense to have no deep plays is allowing the defense to focus on the line and short passes. Part of "spreading" out the defense is to make them cover deep too; I don't get it.

I'm intrigued by the possibility of these two guys panning out at the same time. Still think Roberson is just green and needs time. Rucker is really going to help us one of these days. Just wish it was now, but you always do when you're losing.

This is why the injury, and subsequent "retirement" of Fentriss, was so huge. He was to be the deep threat. Add in the injury the Jamel Jackson and our speed receivers are gone.
