"I never thought I would say this, but student apathy at UNT might play in the athletic department's favor. I just don't think the students who don't care about athletics are going to find the motivation to get out in droves to vote down a fee. UNT's students who are for a fee are organized and motivated. And they will all vote."

I agree. The opposition just isn't that organized.

Is this the first time on-line voting has been allowed? How many students normally vote in a homecoming election or are anticipated to vote in this election? I would hope athletics encourages it's athletes to vote. What about the Greeks? Aren't they usually a big voting faction for homecoming and mostly pro-athletics? My wife is taking a Grad night class as a part-time student, could she vote and how?

Completely agree. Tomorrow's student attendence I believe will tell us a lot about how many will vote yes. I have a hard time believing that there are many of the "no" voters going to the games. Therefore, if you simply get 70% of those turning out for the games to vote, you should have at least 4200 for "yes" and that doesn't include the "yes" votes of those who won't go to tomorrow's game.

What could be interesting to see is if Dodge ever makes it back to the field or if UNT won't try to make a bid for a medical redshirt. Don't hold me to this, but I believe the NCAA rule is that players are eligible for a medical redshirt if they have not played in more than 25 percent of the games in a season. Dodge has played in three games in what will be a 12-game season.

Better late than never.

I wonder if the "uproar" about the athletic fee increase will bring out any more students to see what this football thing is all about ?

Wouldn't it be funny if they came, enjoyed themselves, and voted yes because of the experience ?

Students (including grad students) can vote on any computer at www.unt.edu/sga. Also, any and all General Access Computer Labs are considered “official polling sites” including the Syndicate.

My biggest concern with this vote is that students won't have to "get out in droves" to go anywhere, because they will vote online. It doesn't take much motivation to go the website, sign in and cast your vote.
