Just curious...was it a strategy of yours to not tie the athletic fee to generating a new stadium? Seeing as there's no graphic or text mention of it on there.

The tiny letters at the bottom say: "Paid For by 'Students for a New Stadium'"

I used no graphics because that increased the cost. This was a template and I just plugged in the words.

Just curious why everyone and their dog feels the need to make a new post complaining about the sign.... Really, what are you expecting to accomplish? We are all extremely frustrated and worried about the design and ultimately the program in general, but what good is another thread with more whining going to do? The sign is boring, we all know that. But all of this negativity is serving no purpose except to snowball and bring moral down even further. I think that anyone who was has seen the sign already has a low enough morale as it is. There is just no need to keep stating the obvious over and over, so take a rest already.

You may argue there isn't anything to be positive about, but in my mind, the problem with the vitriol and negativity is that there is so few threads recognizing the things about that sign that made me smile-happy.

So I will start:

It's BY GOD Green and was absolutely worth the price of printing.

The cynical will say I just about covered it. But if you try, you will find more to be happy about it.

Note that the fee isn't JUST for the stadium.

I've also found that "bizarre" and funny signs have generated unlikely votes in student elections. Not sure if you guys have had any recently.

I was not complaining about the sign. I think what Derrick has done is nothing short of incredible. I just worry about the other 30,000 or so students who aren't a part of the Facebook group or aren't completely informed about the situation and hope they connect the athletic fee to bringing a new stadium. I'm sorry if it came off as anything different.

The vibe on campus seems good. I believe North Texas is ready for the new stadium. Just having no track and great site lines would be awesome.

Yup - that's where some of this money is going. It's amazing, because I can specifically run the ad for North Texas students... more bang for the buck.
