My thought was " I wonder if David's father Dwight knew about this?"

I can only assume so, since Eisenhower's only son to live to adulthood was named John. My grandfather used to call his close friends and family by their middle names. Maybe it's just something old guys do.

.......or maybe he's down to four or five synapses that are firing properly. We've already had 7+ years of that already.....with a much younger man.
