Channel 8 had a brief story on Fouts and the new stadium last night. Said the student senate passed the referendum to vote on the fee to help pay for it, and touched a little on the condition of Fouts, and said there may be some who are against it. Did not mention #'s or anything. In closing, they said that UNT's football coach (did not call him by name) said Fouts was the worst stadium in college football. By the best, I mean this was just a straight story, no drama or one sided. One sided in the other stories have been more to the folks who are against the stadium, not for it. Again, just thought this one was pretty straight forward, people can make up their own minds.

It's the FWST love affair principle in action. The story with the least depth that sticks to the talking point script is the most popular here!

Why respect someone who does the work to get a story and puts the most compelling part to the general viewer on camera when you can praise the half ass version? It's like praising a kid for copying the text of a book flap over the kid who designed a 5 page report that you don't agree with.

Dozer - this isn't meant to call you out but it was a nice bridge to one of my favorite things happening on the board lately.

No offense! I thought about the same thing, though not in as much depth, after my post. Great point, and I just would rather see balanced opinions it they are going to write anything at all. Especially, in this case, when there is more positive than negative, but they give more credibility to the negative. Long winded way of saying be fair in their reporting.

It's hard to get balance in the news these days. Negativity and sensationalism attracts viewers and sells, not nice happy-ending stories. Channel 8 does a good job trying to balance facts from rumors, Channel 4, not so much.
