Houston Hotel

For those who have been down there for a game where's a good place to stay. I'm not looking for a roach motel but something for 5 guys to cram into for one night that's pretty cheap.

there is a drury in right on 610...about 7 min from the stadium...prob. not bad....there is also a holiday inn right next door i believe.

I would advise getting a reservation as there are several hotels full of people without power. Also there are over 7,000 electric and tree service personel here. Not to mention some hotels are closed. I just got power back today and about 25% of the area is still without. It might be a good idea to get on some waiting lists.

The Stafford / Sugar Land area (SW Freeway (59) just outside of Beltway 8, just before US 90A) has a lot of hotels - Motel 6, Days Inn, Marriott Courtyard, Hampton Inn, Residence Inn, Homewood Suites, to name a few. It's only 1/2 hour away from Rice U.

I don't know if they're full, but the Marriott Medical Center on Fannin is about a mile from the stadium. There's a Rice Football special for $99 a night (+ taxes), but you need to mention it when making reservations.
