I was looking ahead to FIU, so I went to their board for a quick view.

FIU opened the doors on their new stadium project with their

South Florida game last Saturday.

By the way, FIU has a new web site.

Several stories from the Miami Hearld on the new FIU stadium.

First phase of their stadium $50 million, with continued construction

on the upper decks. Seating at 45,000. Total investment for their

furture at $80 million.

Note- I fixed the Miami Herald links- they work now.

I fixed the links to the Miami Herald so these 2 links work now.

For the new FIU board, you have to go through their old site, follow

directions that hook up to thier new FIU fan site.

That's the ugliest erector-set stadium I've ever seen. Not even a facade to cover up the framing?

Looks like a stadium full of Fouts' endzone seating.

Guys! It is not done yet, lol. Geez! And the price tag is for everything, they didn't even have a weight room! I mean - the had nothing folks, they had to start from scratch. FIU rushed their about 8 years to move to IA so that the Belt could stay a IA conference - we should be thanking them, not criticizing them. A facade will be put on the stadium, it is not done yet - teh stadium will not be done until 2011... The seats won't even be all in place until 2010. This thing is only about half done.
