I think Vizza's lack of INT's is both scheme and his choices. True, the play calling calls for shorter "safer" throws but I also think we're seeing him check down more to be a more responsible QB. I'm fairly sure he realizes that, in order to make this offense work (and possibly to remain the starter), you have to limit turnovers.

Good analysis. Wow, we've only had one punt return in three games? That's very telling about the continued lack of overall defense, although I have noticed changes to schemes over last year that eventually will become effective once the roster catches up.

As for the offense and Vizza's short passes, what has happened to Dodge's vertical stretch offense? I'd rather see more mid-range and longer passes with the chance of giving up an interception than this 4-yard pass and a cloud of dust aka DD offense. It appears to still be a (slow) work in progress.

In related news: I noticed Auburn's 3-2 win over Miss St, which featured Troy's former "brilliant" OC leading their new spread offense, has been harshly critized by Auburn fans and supporters. The AU president appealed to fans and students by email not to boo the home team during their game this weekend with LSU if they continue to falter. Ha! Our coaches have it so easy.
