My adopted player, Mr. Joseph Miller, had a good game against the best competition he is likely to see this year. I call him Mr. out of respect for the man-sized job he did/does. He did not appear on the stat sheet...so you might think he did not do well. I watched our men in the trenches, who were easy to see on that big screen at the Pourhouse and Mr. Miller's number was on screen regularly. He was around the ball all night. I particularly want to say I noticed his hustle on a play to the sideline where he took a good angle of pursuit and very nearly knocked one of their speed-demons out of bounds about five yards up from the line of scrimmage. That was a Booger move. Congratulations, and let's get ready to get in the win column against Rice.

My player, defensive end transfer Mack Cole, did not record any statistics in the game. I wondered if maybe he was hurt or something but he showed up on the participation report as having played in the game... :(

My adopted player Nwigwe has been the flat out star of the defense.

Z-man I totally agree and frankly, I am starting to think this kid may hard for the NFL scouts to ignore. He can play against anyone.

To the best of my knowledge, Troy Franklin did not see any action in this game, or against Tulsa. Talk about burning a redshirt--if you're going to do it with someone like Franklin, at least play him.

If he did play and I missed it, disregard that last statement.

A.J. Penson had one solo tackle and one assist against LSU. He is the least experienced on the starting linebackers but Coach DeLoach has enough confidence in him to continue starting him because he is a talent waiting to explode.

By the way, Zeke's man Nwigwe is tied for 14th in the nation in number of tackles.

This is real progress. In recent history our leading tackler was a DB.
